At Avenue Z, our Interns are valued members of our team and play a crucial role in our day-to-day operations. As an Intern, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in all aspects of our business, gaining hands-on experience in strategy development, media relations, conference pitching, and internal operations. This three-month program is designed for highly talented individuals who are eager to learn and excel in the field of public relations. Throughout the program, you will receive guidance and support from peers and managers to enhance your skills and develop your professional competencies. Our interns are provided the opportunity to grow their skills through hands-on experience with client deliverables and drive results for the firm’s core media relations services. 


We are looking for dynamic, proactive individuals who are ready to jump-start their careers at a consultancy that values each team member's contribution. If you are an enthusiastic learner, self-starter, hungry to prove your abilities, and excited to explore the world of consultancy under the guidance of leading communications professionals, this internship is for you. You should be confident in your writing skills and have a general understanding of the role of communications.


Responsibilities

  • Client Campaign Support:
    • Work directly with account leads and the junior team to execute client campaigns effectively.
    • Engage with key media and reporters to drive positive results.
  • Communication Strategy Development:
    • Actively participate in the development and execution of communications strategies, including media relations (pitch development, target identification, and reporter outreach) and conference/speaking opportunity outreach.
  • Brainstorming and Idea Contribution:
    • Collaborate with the team to contribute ideas and brainstorm new campaign initiatives that support client accounts.
  • Content Creation:
    • Develop written materials, including press releases, contributed articles, and client communications.
  • Cultural Enhancement:
    • Contribute ideas on how to enhance the agency's growing culture and work environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous PR/Communications or marketing internship experience is preferred.
  • Strong interest in fintech, venture capital, healthcare, and innovative technology companies.
  • Eagerness to learn and willingness to take on a highly visible role within the internal team, client interactions, and media engagements.
  • Proactive and creative mindset to support account teams on key deliverables. 

Internship Details

  • This is a paid internship with a minimum commitment of 25 hours per week (full-time preferred) and a duration of three months. 
  • Candidates may be recent graduates or students currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in communications, marketing, finance, business, or a related field. 
  • The salary ranges from $18 to $20 per hour.
