Position Summary
e.l.f. Beauty is seeking a Summer Intern, Marketing Insights to support consumer and market research efforts across the beauty industry. This role focuses on analyzing consumer behavior, tracking emerging trends, and translating data into actionable insights that inform marketing, product, and strategic decision-making. It’s a great opportunity for someone who loves data, patterns, and understanding what’s shaping the beauty landscape now—and what’s coming next.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret consumer and marketplace data to identify key behaviors, emerging trends, and opportunities within the beauty industry
  • Monitor beauty trends across social media platforms and synthesize insights to inform cross-functional strategies
  • Leverage social listening tools to track consumer sentiment, analyze competitor activity, and uncover market insights
  • Assist in the design, execution, and analysis of quantitative surveys, supporting interpretation of research findings
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate consumer insights into marketing, product development, and other strategic initiatives
  • Support the collection and reporting of both short-term and long-term beauty trends, across market and consumer insights

Requirements:

  • Must be a rising junior or senior at the time of the internship
  • Must be available for the full internship period: June 1st - August 21st
  • Pursuing a degree in Market Research, Consumer Behavior, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights
  • Proficient in Excel for data analysis (pivot tables, functions, visualizations; macros a plus)
  • Familiarity with analytics tools such as SQL and SPSS
  • Experience using PowerPoint and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to present insights clearly
  • Detail-oriented and execution-focused with a high standard of accuracy
  • Self-motivated, organized, curious, and collaborative
  • Passion for data, analytics, and understanding the beauty consumer

Business Rationale:

  • This summer, the e.l.f.tern will support the collection, analysis, and reporting of consumer and market trends within the beauty industry. The role will contribute to uncovering short- and long-term insights across market and consumer data, helping inform strategic decisions across marketing, product development, and broader business initiatives.
