This 10‑week Engineering Internship offers hands‑on experience working directly alongside our Engineering team. Interns will contribute to real projects, learn modern engineering practices, and gain exposure to the full development lifecycle through mentorship, team collaboration, and day‑to‑day involvement within the department. This internship is designed to provide meaningful learning, practical skill development, and insight into a professional engineering environment.

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with experienced engineers to design, develop, and test new features for the Samba web application platform

  • Write clean, maintainable code using Spring Boot and Java

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions with the team

  • Help deploy and monitor applications in Kubernetes environments

  • Debug and troubleshoot issues across the application stack

  • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing

What you will need: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

  • Basic understanding of object-oriented programming principles

  • Familiarity with Java or similar programming languages

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements

  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a virtual environment 

Qualifications:

  • Working towards a BS/BA degree in Engineering, Computer Science, etc. 

  • Demonstrates openness and curiosity; eager to learn, comfortable asking questions, and enthusiastic about self development

  • Ability to maintain positive attitude and demonstrate professionalism

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner

  • Ability to work independently & in a group setting and demonstrate good judgment skills

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to changing environments-

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable learning new technologies and processes

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship or project experience with Java development

  • Exposure to Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes)

  • Experience with agile development methodologies
