About the role

Mile Marker is hiring a Supervisor, Analytics Implementation to own the data layer under Relay for our clients. Relay, our measurement architecture, measures more than $500MM in annual media spend. It's only as good as what feeds it.

What feeds it is the tags, pixels, conversion setups and data connections on client sites. Some weeks you'll build tracking for a DTC brand going live on a new ad platform. Other weeks you'll open a bank's inherited tagging container, work out why its conversions stopped matching the platforms, and fix it one item at a time while their compliance team reviews every change.

This is a client-facing seat on a small but mighty team. You'll lead technical calls with client developers and write the instructions they follow. Our VP of Innovation & Strategy owns the architecture and the scope; you own the execution.

Key Responsibilities

Measurement planning

  • Work with our planning and execution teams to turn campaign KPIs into a tracking plan: the website actions and conversions that make each KPI measurable.
  • Walk those teams through what each event means, so they optimize toward the right signal.
  • Align tagging within an omnichannel framework to connect online, tagged conversions with non-tagged offline touchpoints, creating a complete view of the customer journey.

Implementation

  • Build and audit Google Tag Manager containers and GA4 properties across client sites, web and server-side.
  • Implement conversion tracking for Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft, etc, including Conversions API and enhanced conversions.
  • Ship changes through the client's own developers, whatever platform they run.

Remediation

  • Take remediation projects from audit to validated fix, with a plan the client signs off on line by line.
  • Prove every fix with network-level validation before it's called done.

Standards and data

  • Keep campaign naming and UTM standards clean, along with the Google Ads automation that applies them.
  • Stand up data connections into BigQuery and Funnel.io, then check them with SQL.

Clients and tooling

  • New clients start with you, from access requests to an inventory of everything already firing.
  • Tell a client's IT team exactly what is blocking a tag and what to change.

Documentation

  • Document each client's setup so anyone on the team can pick it up, down to which tag fires which conversion.
  • Write the implementation instructions and handoff docs clients keep after the work ships.

Data Governance

  • Operationalize naming conventions and data standards within Funnel.io to ensure automated, clean data pipelines across marketing channels.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

Experience

  • Four to six years of hands-on analytics implementation, at least two of them at an agency or consultancy juggling multiple clients.
  • Previously developed a tracking plan or solution design document clear enough that a developer could implement it without you."
  • Time in regulated categories. Several of our clients are banks and health brands, so CSP reviews and health-data restrictions come with the job.

Technical

  • GTM you've built from an empty container, and GTM you've inherited and untangled. We'll ask about both.
  • GA4 configuration at depth, plus enough understanding of SQL to check the BigQuery export against what the interface claims.
  • Conversion APIs and enhanced conversions, including where the hashing happens and why.
  • Working command of Consent Mode and how consent platforms gate tags.
  • JavaScript and the DOM at the level a clean dataLayer requires.
  • The judgment to spot agent output that looks right and isn't.

Client-facing

  • Writing a client developer can follow on the first read.
  • Comfort running a technical call with a client's developers or compliance team without someone senior in the room.

Communication & Collaboration Skills

  • Ability to partner with cross-functional teams seamlessly
  • Strong and timely communication skills across platforms
  • Capable of navigating an entrepreneurial fast-paced environment

Nice to have

  • Server-side GTM, ideally on Stape
  • Funnel.io
  • Shopify custom pixels and Liquid
  • Apps Script or Python
  • Adobe Analytics, for clients who run it alongside GA4

The pay range for this role is:

$85,000 - $100,000 per year
