Garner’s mission is to transform the healthcare economy, delivering high-quality and affordable care for all.

We are fundamentally reimagining how healthcare works in the U.S. by partnering with employers to redesign healthcare benefits using clear incentives and powerful, data-driven insights. Our approach guides employees to higher-quality, lower-cost care, creating a system that works better for everyone. Patients achieve better health outcomes, employers spend healthcare dollars more effectively, and physicians are rewarded for delivering exceptional care rather than performing more procedures.

Garner is one of the fastest-growing healthcare technology companies in the country. Our products are trusted by the most sophisticated employers and providers in the industry, and we are building a team of talented, mission-driven individuals who are motivated to make a meaningful impact on healthcare at scale.

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Vice President of People & Talent to lead the full people lifecycle at Garner from recruiting and onboarding to development, performance, engagement, and retention. This leader will report directly to the CEO and will oversee both the People Operations and Talent Acquisition teams. They will be responsible for building scalable systems, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring we continue to attract and grow extraordinary talent as the company scales. This is a unique opportunity for a mission-driven leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about building exceptional teams and organizational systems.

This role will be based in our New York City office. You must be willing to work in the office 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and scale the People and Talent Acquisition functions, building systems that support the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compensation, learning and development, and engagement.
  • Partner closely with the CEO and leadership team on organizational design, headcount planning, hiring priorities, and company-wide goal setting.
  • Ensure a consistently high talent bar and cultural alignment across the organization, embedding our values in hiring, performance management, and manager practices.
  • Establish and monitor key people metrics, including time-to-hire, ramp time, engagement scores, performance distribution, and attrition, to guide decision-making and drive accountability.
  • Build and run scalable processes for performance review cycles, compensation planning, leveling frameworks, internal mobility, and career pathing.
  • Develop and implement programs that strengthen culture, manager capability, and employee engagement, with clear follow-through and measurable outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with employment law, lead employee relations practices, and maintain consistent policies and risk mitigation across jurisdictions.
  • Own HR systems and tools (e.g., HRIS, ATS), ensuring accuracy, clean data, process automation, and strong operating rhythms across teams.

The ideal candidate has:

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in People/HR roles, with 5+ years leading both People Operations and Talent Acquisition at a high-growth company.
  • Proven expertise in designing and scaling people systems, including recruiting, performance management, compensation, and engagement.
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams across people and talent functions.
  • Strong analytical and metrics-driven mindset, with experience building dashboards, defining KPIs, and making data-informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with executives, influence leaders, and hold teams accountable to people and hiring goals.
  • A hands-on, builder mindset with the ability to operate strategically while diving into details when needed.
  • A passion for Garner’s mission and a commitment to creating an environment where team members can do the best work of their careers.

This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing company in a transformative role, helping shape the future of healthcare while shaping how a growing company attracts, develops, and retains extraordinary talent.

Compensation Transparency:

The total cash compensation range for this position is $350,000 - $425,000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans, including but not limited to: flexible PTO, Medical/Dental/Vision plan options, 401(k), Teladoc Health and more.
