The Talent Partner will lead full-cycle recruitment for key roles in the US, collaborating with hiring managers and ensuring a best-in-class candidate experience.
At OakNorth, we’re on a mission to empower the UK’s most ambitious businesses. Since 2015, we’ve lent over $18 billion across the UK and US, helped create more than 58,000 new homes and 36,000 new jobs, and supported hundreds of thousands of personal savers — all while fuelling the UK economy.
We’re looking for a Talent Partner who is passionate about recruitment and excited to help OakNorth grow its footprint across the US. This role will take ownership of hiring for our New York and Michigan offices, partnering closely with hiring managers and the global People team to attract, engage, and hire exceptional talent.
You’ll be the go-to expert for all things recruitment in the US — driving hiring strategy, building strong pipelines, and delivering a first-class candidate experience that reflects OakNorth’s culture and values.
What You’ll Do
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for key roles across New York and Michigan — from defining requirements and crafting job descriptions to managing offers and onboarding coordination.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand business needs, provide market insights, and design effective and inclusive hiring strategies.
- Build and maintain strong talent pipelines, proactively engaging professionals across the banking and financial services landscape.
- Champion a best-in-class candidate experience, ensuring every candidate feels informed, respected, and valued throughout the process.
- Collaborate with the global People and Talent team to ensure alignment on hiring standards, best practices, and candidate messaging.
- Contribute to employer branding initiatives, positioning OakNorth as a leading and innovative employer within the financial services sector.
- Track and analyse recruitment metrics to inform continuous improvement in process efficiency and quality of hire.
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in in house talent acquisition, with a focus on banking, financial services, or lending-related roles.
- Strong understanding of US recruitment practices and talent markets, particularly in Michigan and New York.
- Proven ability to attract and hire top talent across commercial, credit, risk, operations, and corporate functions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships at all levels.
- Experience using ATS and HR systems (we work with Lever and HiBob).
- Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable — comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Passionate about recruitment excellence, diversity, and creating an engaging candidate journey.
