About the Position

We are looking for a Tax Specialist to join our New York Tax team. You'll help manage our firm’s tax compliance processes for U.S. partnerships and corporations, focusing mainly on federal, state, and local income taxes, along with some indirect taxes.

You’ll work alongside team members to review our partnership and corporate tax returns and to manage our compliance processes end-to-end—including financial statement disclosures and finalizing tax returns—while also liaising with outside providers to meet these obligations.

Additional responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Researching federal, state, and international tax issues and preparing memos with your findings
  • Developing and maintaining detailed spreadsheet calculations and reconciliations
  • Managing state and local apportionment schedules, and reviewing jurisdiction rules annually
  • Preparing periodic and year-end estimated tax schedules, elections, and filing indirect tax forms (e.g., Sales and Use, Commercial Rent Tax)
  • Coordinating compliance and correspondence with tax authorities, including reviewing tax files, recommending actions, and composing responses as needed
  • Collecting data and organizing documents for tax examinations
  • Researching tax filing requirements as new entities are formed in new jurisdictions
  • Assisting with CRS/ FATCA compliance
  • Working closely with our global Tax team to provide comprehensive and coordinated tax advice to the firm
About You

  • Have 5+ years of experience in partnership and corporate taxation with 3+ years of experience within a public accounting firm
  • Strong communicator with great people skills; have a proven ability to communicate tax issues and requirements clearly to non-tax team members and to work effectively across functional teams
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Able to work proactively and handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to identify and work toward resolving process inefficiencies
  • Comfortable working in a challenging, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of indirect taxes such as Sales and Use, Commercial Rent Tax, and Financial Transaction Taxes is a plus
  • General understanding of FATCA/CRS/CBCR regimes is a plus
