Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Project Manager who embraces challenges and is a motivated self-starter. This position will be an integral part of a diverse team of professionals and subject matter experts fulfilling challenging technical requirements for our Ft Gordon customers. This position will support longer-term requirements. These project team activities will include system design, procurement, fabrication, integration, testing and evaluation, installation, and fielding support for the C5ISR platforms. The following duties are typical of the position:
  1. Defines the objectives and strategies for the programs and underlying projects with alignment to customer and contractual requirements.
  2. Facilitates the timely planning of the program consistent with program/project requirements and objectives.
  3. Conducts regular program and project reviews with senior leadership and customers to monitor performance and quality standards.
  4. Interact with business unit departments to plan and identify workforce requirements and coordinate scheduling.
  5. Develop Program and Project plans to include Work Breakdown Structures, Statements of Work, Cost Estimates, Schedules, Risk Registers, Master Equipment Lists / Bill of Materials, and other project artifacts as required.
  6. Manages programs / projects from the initial planning phase through program/project completion.
  7. Interfaces and coordinates with customers, sponsors, and end users to provide the necessary program status and obtain customer feedback.
  8. Monitors program / projects to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.
  9. Directs the work activities of assigned subordinate employees. Conducts performance appraisals, schedules resource availability and assignments, and develops career developments plans for subordinate employees.
  10. Ensure projects are executed within safety, export, and security standards.
  11. Resolves and communicates program / project issues, as appropriate.
This position is located in Augusta, GA There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Augusta, GA or surrounding areas
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Program Management, Business-related, or Technical field of study and at least 5 years of related experience, including project management
Advanced problem solving and organizational skills
Ability to demonstrate professionalism, effective communication and leadership
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to initiate, prioritize, and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) and Project Management Information Tools (Service Now, Jira, Confluence)
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Familiarity with military and DoD customer organizations
Familiarity or experience with IT infrastructure communications systems
Technical Project Management experience
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $107359 - $182510
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
