The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

What you will do:
- Define and execute the AI enablement roadmap for the engineering organization, aligned with product and business priorities.
- Partner with product management, data science/ML teams, security, and architecture to identify high-impact AI opportunities and integrate them into product roadmaps.
- Collaborate with security, DevOps, application teams and architecture to align infrastructure with business and compliance requirements
- Evaluate and select AI platforms, models (including LLMs), third-party tools, and cloud services, lead procurement and vendor relationships where appropriate.
- Implement best practices for safe, efficient, and reproducible model development and deployment (versioning, CI/CD for models, automated testing, monitoring, rollback).
- Drive prompt engineering, prompt libraries, and patterns for reliable prompt-based features and developer tools.
- Establish observability and monitoring for AI components (performance, latency, accuracy, drift, cost), and define alerting and remediation processes.
- Own security, privacy, and compliance considerations for AI use (data handling, PII, access controls, model auditing).
- Coach and mentor engineers on AI/ML engineering, prompt engineering, inference optimization, and integration patterns. Promote knowledge sharing and internal training programs.
- Set and track success metrics (developer productivity, cycle time, error rates, model performance, cost), and report outcomes to senior leadership.
- Drive adoption of AI-enhanced workflows among development teams through change management, documentation, demos, and support.
- Manage hiring, performance reviews, career development, and team allocation.
The skills you bring:
- 10+ years of professional software development experience and 3+ years managing engineering teams.
- Hands-on experience integrating ML/AI into software products or developer tooling (model integration, inference services, MLOps).
- Strong technical background in system architecture, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), APIs, and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, model hosting, inference scaling, and cost optimization.
- Practical experience with CI/CD, automated testing, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and observability tooling.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Excellent communication, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Prior experience as an engineering manager or technical lead in organizations adopting AI/LLMs.
- Familiarity with privacy-safe data pipelines, differential privacy techniques, or federated learning concepts.
- Experience with relevant programming languages and frameworks (Python, Java/TypeScript, PyTorch/TensorFlow, LangChain or similar).
- Experience with feature flagging, A/B testing, and experimentation frameworks for model-backed features.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).
- Strategic thinking and ability to translate business goals into technical roadmaps.
- Strong mentoring and people-management skills; able to grow technical talent.
- Change leadership - comfortable driving adoption and training across teams.
- Pragmatic problem-solving and bias for measurable outcomes.
- Commitment to responsible AI practices and ethical considerations.
