Role Overview
The Technical Lead Product Manager will support core point of interest (POI), data quality management, and location intelligence product initiatives. This role will build out and directly manage a team of data analysts, coordinating with engineering to continually improve the quality of our core data product and build out AI-based solutions to address issues and enhance the context of our data. This is a high-impact, hands-on role in a fast-paced startup environment, requiring a deep understanding of data products and analysisThis New York-based role will report to the product team and collaborate closely with stakeholders across engineering and the company. As an early member of the product team, you will have the opportunity to shape the core data product and make a direct impact on the company’s growth trajectory.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the product team to define, develop, and execute our product roadmap
- Be responsible for maintaining and continually improving the quality of our data
- Build, manage, and coordinate with a team of data analysts to develop and implement data quality management methodologies and best practices
- Conduct customer research to understand the needs, pain points, and success metrics of both internal and external customers
- Collaborate with the Data Operations, Customer Success, and Sales teams to identify key data quality issues and develop solutions to address the underlying cause
- Continuously measure and analyze product performance, using data to inform product decisions and drive improvements
- Act as a subject matter expert on geospatial technologies and data management best practices
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the product team
Requirements
- 4-6 year proven track record leading successful data product management initiatives related to data quality and analysis, and/or geospatial analytics
- At least 3 years of leading product initiatives in an early stage startup environment
- Technical background in engineering, computer science, or data science
- Product roadmap development and delivery management in coordination with technical data science and engineering teams
- Expert proficiency in PostgreSQL, experience with other analysis methods (Python, R, etc)
- Experience managing or coordinating closely with data analysts to develop data management best practices
- Ability to coordinate across different business units, acting as the mediator between differing opinions while driving product strategy forward
- Ability to balance between company-wide objectives vs product strategy and key results
- Familiarity with geospatial analytics, location intelligence, or other GIS-related work is a plus
