Technical Producer

ZeroSpace is a digital agency and production studio specializing in emerging technologies and real-time 3D for virtual production, CG animation, and immersive experiences. Our unique facility houses the largest fixed-install LED volume on the East Coast, industry-standard Vicon motion capture systems, and a state-of-the-art volumetric capture studio. Our clients include major film studios, Oscar-winning directors, and the biggest brands in the world.

The Role

We're seeking a Technical Producer to orchestrate the technical execution of our most ambitious productions, from virtual production and motion capture shoots on our stages to interactive installations to AR/VR experiences. You'll be the critical link between creative vision and technical reality, managing resources, workflows, and teams to deliver groundbreaking content on time and on budget. This role requires someone who thrives in fast-paced production environments and can seamlessly navigate between executive producers, creative directors, technical directors, engineers, and clients.

We work with many technologies and do not expect candidates to be familiar with all of them; we look for problem-solving skills, first-principles thinking, proactivity, and the ability to learn quickly and navigate ambiguity.

In this role, you will:

• Lead technical pre-production planning, including feasibility assessments, technical breakdowns, and resource allocation for virtual production, motion capture, CGI / 3D animation, AR/VR, and experiential projects

• Coordinate cross-functional teams including technical artists, engineers, stage technicians, and creative staff

• Manage technical production schedules, budgets, and deliverables across multiple simultaneous projects

• Interface with clients to translate creative briefs into technical requirements and production plans

• Oversee on-set technical operations, troubleshooting issues in real-time while maintaining production momentum

• Develop and optimize production workflows that leverage our LED volume, motion capture, and volumetric capture capabilities

• Coordinate integration of AI-powered tools and generative production techniques into production pipelines

• Create technical documentation, run-of-shows, and post-mortem reports to continuously improve production processes

• Manage relationships with technology vendors, equipment rentals, and technical contractors

• Ensure quality control and technical standards are maintained throughout production and post-production phases

About you:

• 3-5+ years of experience in film/TV, commercial, gaming, VFX, animation, or high-end experiential

• Proven track record managing technical aspects of complex projects and productions with emerging technologies

• Strong understanding of virtual production workflows, real-time engines, and XR/LED volume production

• Experience with production management tools and methodologies (Shotgrid, Frame.io, etc.)

• Excellent project management skills with ability to juggle multiple productions simultaneously

• Outstanding communication skills—able to translate between technical and creative stakeholders

• Cool under pressure with strong problem-solving abilities in live production environments

• Experience managing budgets and resource allocation

• Familiarity with motion capture and/or volumetric capture workflows

• Understanding of post-production pipelines and deliverable specifications

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Unreal Engine in production contexts

• Knowledge of Disguise media servers and LED wall technology

• Familiarity with motion capture systems (Vicon, OptiTrack, etc.)

• Understanding of color science and on-set color workflows

• Experience with AI and machine learning tools in production

• Technical knowledge of networking (REST, WebSockets, OSC) data management, and cloud infrastructure (AWS)

• Any programming experience, e.g. Python, Javascript, C++, C#

• Experience with command-line terminals and shell scripting

• Experience with generative AI pipelines for content creation
