Seven Research is a quantitative research and technology company that brings together exceptional people and state-of-the-art resources to solve complex problems in global markets. Our systematic approach combines technical rigor, creativity, and a focus on long-term performance. Our people are our core advantage.
As we scale, we are building the infrastructure required to attract, hire, and retain exceptional talent in a highly competitive market. We are hiring a Technical Recruiter to help us identify, engage, and hire outstanding individuals across engineering and quantitative research, with a particular focus on building our campus recruiting, conference, and events strategy.
About the Role
This is a high-impact, high-ownership role at the center of Seven Research’s technical recruiting efforts. You will help build and manage the full recruiting lifecycle, including talent mapping, sourcing, candidate engagement, interview process management, event execution, and pipeline reporting.
A major focus of this role will be developing Seven Research’s presence across top universities, technical programs, academic communities, conferences, and industry events. You will help design and execute a recruiting strategy that builds strong relationships with students, faculty, experienced candidates, and technical communities over time.
This role is well suited for someone who understands the quantitative finance industry and can help us build our talent brand across both junior and senior candidate markets. You will work directly with leadership and partner closely with engineers, quantitative researchers, and other technical stakeholders to shape and execute our recruiting strategy.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about building technical talent pipelines from the ground up. The ideal candidate can engage naturally with students and graduates from top engineering, mathematics, computer science, and quantitative programs, while also knowing how to attract, assess, and build long-term relationships with experienced senior talent through conferences, events, and direct outreach.
What You’ll Do
- Own full-cycle recruiting for technical, engineering, and quantitative roles, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer process support, and candidate communication.
- Lead and expand Seven Research’s campus recruiting strategy across top engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, and quantitative programs.
- Build relationships with universities, student organizations, faculty, research groups, and academic communities to strengthen Seven Research’s access to exceptional early-career talent.
- Plan, coordinate, and represent the company at campus career fairs, technical talks, conferences, seminars, networking events, and other recruiting programs.
- Develop creative sourcing strategies across campus channels, referrals, direct outreach, open-source communities, academic competitions, conferences, professional networks, and technical communities.
- Partner with senior leadership on Seven Research’s talent branding strategy across junior, campus, and senior candidate markets.
- Conduct market research and monitor industry trends related to talent movement, campus recruiting, conference engagement, hiring best practices, compensation, and candidate preferences.
- Build long-term relationships with potential hires, with a focus on strengthening Seven Research’s reputation in highly competitive technical talent markets.
- Analyze recruiting funnel performance, event ROI, and pipeline data to identify bottlenecks, improve conversion rates, and propose solutions that increase offer acceptance.
Who You Are
You are organized, detail-oriented, and highly reliable, with strong judgment and discretion. You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-performance environment and can move fluidly between structured execution and ambiguous problem-solving.
You enjoy being externally facing and are energized by building relationships with candidates, universities, technical communities, and industry networks. You are equally comfortable speaking with students at a campus event, engaging senior technical candidates at a conference, and partnering with internal stakeholders on hiring strategy.
You are also comfortable working with data. You know how to build trust with candidates, hiring managers, and leadership, while using recruiting analytics to improve outcomes. You bring a thoughtful, proactive approach to candidate engagement and understand how to represent a highly technical organization with credibility and care.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of technical recruiting experience, ideally within a hedge fund, quantitative trading firm, AI company, or highly technical startup.
- Meaningful experience with campus recruiting, university partnerships, conferences, technical events, or early-career technical hiring.
- Proven ability to source, engage, and close exceptional candidates in competitive technical talent markets.
- Strong understanding of technical and quantitative recruiting, including engineering, research, infrastructure, data, AI/ML, or related talent pools.
- Ability to connect with candidates at different career stages, from students and recent graduates to experienced senior talent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling candidate outreach and represent the company effectively at events.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-through, and sound judgment.
- Ability to manage multiple recruiting workstreams, events, and candidate pipelines simultaneously.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to analyze recruiting pipelines, event performance, and candidate conversion data, and communicate clear insights to leadership.
- Familiarity with an ATS such as Greenhouse is a plus.
- SHRM Certification is a plus.
Compensation
The expected base salary range for this role is $140,000–$190,000, plus discretionary bonus and benefits. Compensation is determined based on experience and scope of responsibility.
