Company Description

Selfa is a leading calibration and metrology solutions provider based in Lagos, Nigeria. We deliver reliable, innovative, and cost-effective measurement and control services across various industries. As we expand our service portfolio, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Technical Sales Lead to drive the growth of our B2B technical services, including calibration, measurement solutions, and IoT-enabled asset monitoring.

Job Description

As a Technical Sales Lead at Selfa, each day blends strategy, customer engagement, and technical insight. Your mornings might start with reviewing your sales pipeline and planning follow-ups on leads generated from digital campaigns or recent industry events. Shortly after, you’re on a client call — understanding the calibration or asset monitoring needs of a manufacturing plant and proposing a customized service package.

Midday could involve collaborating with the technical operations team to scope a solution or refine a proposal, ensuring what you’re selling aligns with what can be delivered. You’ll likely prepare or revise commercial quotations, attend a virtual meeting with a procurement team, or visit a key client site with a technician to assess equipment.

In between, you're checking CRM updates, tracking sales metrics, and preparing a weekly report for the CEO. Occasionally, you're analyzing competitor offerings or following up on service performance to ensure a customer remains satisfied and loyal.

By the end of the day, you're closing the loop on opportunities, aligning with marketing on outreach materials, and setting up calls or demos for the week ahead. No two days are exactly alike, but every day moves the business closer to sustainable growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for new and existing technical services (calibration, repairs, equipment supply, IoT solutions).

  • Lead the end-to-end sales cycle — from prospecting to closing — with a focus on B2B clients in manufacturing, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, and utilities.

  • Build strong relationships with technical buyers, procurement teams, and decision-makers.

  • Conduct technical needs assessments and work with the technical operations team to propose appropriate solutions.

  • Manage key accounts, oversee customer onboarding, and ensure client satisfaction and retention.

  • Track industry trends and competitor offerings to identify growth opportunities and improve value proposition.

  • Collaborate with marketing and service delivery teams to generate leads and refine messaging.

  • Prepare reports and forecasts for management on sales performance, pipelines, and market feedback.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Industrial Technology, or related technical field.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in technical sales or B2B consultative selling, preferably in calibration, instrumentation, automation, or industrial services.

  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand and explain metrology concepts and measurement systems.

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a dynamic environment.

  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce) is a plus.

Additional Information

  • Competitive salary plus performance-based incentives.

  • Opportunity to be part of a growth-focused company with a strong reputation in technical services.

  • Dynamic, collaborative, and purpose-driven work culture.

  • Ongoing technical training and professional development.
