Who We Are:

Tenex is where builders, operators, and problem-solvers come together to help the world’s most ambitious companies go from AI-absent to AI-native. We work at the intersection of strategy and engineering, embedding elite AI SWAT teams directly into organizations to turn complex, high-stakes problems into real, measurable outcomes. We don’t do slide decks and hand-offs; we sit in the trenches alongside our clients to build & drive real transformation.

We operate with the speed of a startup and the rigor of a storied institution. Our culture is built on intellectual curiosity, radical ownership, and a belief that exceptional work comes from diverse teams who are empowered to challenge assumptions, move fast, and hold each other to a higher standard. If you want to work on projects that actually matter, alongside people who push you to be your best—Tenex is the place to do it.

The Role:

We’re hiring a Talent Sourcer to help build the talent engine behind Tenex’s next phase of growth.

This person will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and building pipelines of exceptional talent across our most critical hiring needs—primarily Forward Deployed Engineers and AI Strategists—while helping expand into other strategic roles as the company scales.

This is not a passive sourcing role. We are looking for someone who understands how to identify top-tier talent in competitive markets, create thoughtful outreach strategies, and generate meaningful candidate engagement with high-caliber operators.

You will partner closely with Recruiting and Hiring Leaders to help shape pipeline strategy, improve sourcing processes, and ensure Tenex continues attracting elite talent as we scale from early-stage startup to category-defining company.

If you thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy the hunt for exceptional talent, and want to play a critical role in helping build one of the strongest teams in AI consulting, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do:

Talent Sourcing & Pipeline Development (80%)

  • Build and manage top-of-funnel pipelines for Tenex’s most critical hiring needs, with a primary focus on Forward Deployed Engineers and AI Strategists

  • Source passive candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, technical communities, niche networks, referrals, events, and creative outbound strategies

  • Develop highly personalized outreach campaigns that drive candidate engagement and response rates

  • Partner closely with recruiters and hiring managers to deeply understand role requirements, target profiles, and market dynamics

  • Continuously refine sourcing strategies based on market feedback, hiring trends, and pipeline performance

  • Build proactive talent pipelines for future strategic hiring needs as the organization scales

Talent Operations & Market Intelligence (20%)

  • Track sourcing funnel metrics including outreach conversion, response rates, and pipeline health

  • Maintain clean and organized candidate data within Ashby ATS

  • Conduct market mapping and talent research to identify emerging talent pools and competitor insights

  • Help improve sourcing workflows, tools, and operational efficiency across the recruiting function

  • Contribute to employer branding initiatives that position Tenex as a top destination for elite builders and operators

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • 2–5 years of sourcing or recruiting experience, preferably within technical or high-growth startup environments

  • Proven success sourcing technical talent, ideally software engineers, forward deployed engineers, consultants, or strategy talent

  • Strong understanding of sourcing methodologies including Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, and creative outbound prospecting

  • Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to craft compelling outreach messaging

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail—you can manage multiple searches and pipelines simultaneously

  • Highly proactive, resourceful, and self-directed with a builder mentality

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and moving quickly in fast-changing environments

  • Passion for identifying top talent and building relationships with exceptional candidates

We’ve Got You Covered (Full-Time Employees Only):

  • Comprehensive medical coverage (PPO and HSA options), dental, and vision

  • HSA, Healthcare FSA, and Commuter Benefits

  • 100% employer-paid life insurance + AD&D

  • 100% employer-paid long-term disability insurance

  • Responsible PTO — take what you need

What we offer:

This is a contract to hire role with possible conversion before or at 3mo. The starting hourly rate is $45 -$55 an hour, and the salary for this role is $100,000 - $120,000. Sourcers earn a performance-based discretionary bonus quarterly. When determining compensation, we consider job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Our workplace:

We prioritize in-person work and collaborate from our New York City office five days a week. We believe our best ideas come from working closely together. Being in the same space enables faster collaboration, real-time problem solving, and stronger relationships that elevate how we build and execute as a team.
