Description:

Under the direction of the Technical Writing Manager, the Technical Writer serves as a subject matter contributor for product documentation, developing and maintaining clear, customer-focused content that supports adoption, feature awareness, and product success across one or more software solutions. This role oversees the development and continuous enhancement of product documentation, ensuring information is accessible, accurate, and aligned with evolving customer and business needs.

The Technical Writer creates user focused content that supports product releases, enhances the customer experience, and contributes to improvements in documentation processes, tools, and standards.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and drive the documentation planning and content strategy for assigned products, identifying content needs, prioritizing initiatives, and coordinating documentation efforts that support product releases, customer adoption, and ongoing knowledgebase optimization
  • Coordinate and deliver documentation initiatives and deliverables through the product development cycle to support product launches and releases, enhancements, and customer adoption, balancing release-driven priorities with ongoing content optimization efforts
  • Produce and continuously improve user-facing content, including help documentation, release notes, and instructional videos, leveraging subject matter expertise and AI-assisted workflows to create, refine, and maintain clear, accurate, and usable content for end users
  • Manage content organization and governance within multiple knowledgebases, including navigation structure, indexing, cross-product linking, taxonomy, table of contents management, and content lifecycle updates; optimize content discoverability and usability for both customers and AI-powered search and retrieval experiences
  • Build strong partnerships across technical and business teams to translate complex product functionality into clear, customer-focused documentation and learning resources
  • Champion consistency across documentation by applying established standards and contributing recommendations that improve documentation practices, governance, and team efficiency
  • Utilize AI-assisted tools, such as generative AI and Copilot, to support and accelerate content creation, editing, and documentation updates while maintaining quality and accuracy
  • Build and refine AI prompts, templates, or workflows to improve efficiency and consistency in documentation development
  • Utilize tools such as MadCap Flare, Camtasia, Salesforce, GitHub Copilot, and source control systems to create and publish content
  • Analyze documentation usage trends, customer feedback, and support insights to identify opportunities for content improvement and knowledge gaps
  • Perform additional duties or tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Proven professional technical writing experience, preferably within a software or technology environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop user-focused content using modern authoring tools such as MadCap Flare or similar platforms
  • Experience with HTML, XML, and content management systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal oversight
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and an interest in applying them to technical documentation workflows
  • Demonstrated ability or curiosity to leverage AI tools to support content development while maintaining accuracy and clarity
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to maintain discretion when handling proprietary and confidential information
  • Enthusiasm for learning and expanding knowledge or skills
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, honesty, collaboration and team orientation
  • Ability to travel as required, up to 10%

This role can be performed 100% virtually anywhere in the US while following our Remote Work Policy. Deadline to apply is at least 3 days after the posting date listed.

Position Salary Range: The annual base salary range for this full-time role is $65,000- $85,000 USD + bonus + benefits + perks + community gains. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, education or training and other relevant qualifications.
