This role is responsible for conducting tests of Chamberlain products that consist of mechanical, electromechanical, electronic, firmware and software features for product development. This includes product functionality testing, environmental testing, sound and vibration testing, software feature debugging, EMC, ESD, EFT, power surge, radio frequency, and radiated emission to Chamberlain, IEC, FCC and UL regulatory requirements. The tech must also have the ability to read and interpret product test procedures, build PC boards and use electro-mechanical fixtures along with documenting, analyzing and summarizing results to such requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Set-up and execute testing per written or verbal plans of Chamberlain products, record, analyze and communicates test results, tracks defects, estimate test effort, participate gauge R&R studies and adhere to lean 6S standards
- Participates as a team member with engineering to track and maintain test work schedules on multiple projects
- Records, prepares and reviews test results for projects as assigned
- Operates a variety of computer automated and manual test equipment including data acquisition systems, environmental chambers, RF acoustics chambers, sound acoustics chambers, EMC test equipment, field range testing, electrical test instrumentation, vibration systems, and assorted measurement transducers
- Builds PC boards, modifies and reworks test samples, assists with test fixture builds
- Works with supervisor to plan schedules, review test procedures, testing methodologies, and provides input for custom test fixture design and automation projects
- Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams

Job Requirements:
- Associates of Applied Science in Engineering or minimum of Two (2) years of job-related experience as defined in Essential Duties & Responsibilities.
- Able to travel up to 10% - domestically and internationally
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent degree
- Intern or co-op experience in lab environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, firmware embedded devices and software products and ability to work within a cross functional teams for the creation of electro-mechanical products
