FieldGuide IT is a people first, technology second, IT services provider. Companies across the US, big and small, rely on FieldGuide for IT strategy and support. We've replaced the old stereotype of the unapproachable "IT guy" with a team that's genuinely passionate about people, and hungry to share what we know about technology in a way that's patient, humble, and innovative.

The Role

As a Technology Coordinator, you'll be the friendly, human face of IT for our clients' new hires and departing employees alike. No robots or automated messaging systems here. Your core focus is the employee crossboarding lifecycle, our shorthand for the full onboarding and offboarding process. For new hires, you'll provision their employee accounts, get them set up in key systems, configure (and often deliver) their laptops, and provide first-day IT training to our clients' newest team members. For departing employees, you'll own deprovisioning system access along with laptop retrievals, wipes, and resets. You'll also provide scheduled and ad-hoc onsite IT support and assistance to our New York City clients. Through it all, you'll be part of a tight-knit team that treats technology as a way to help people, not replace them.

What You'll Do
  • Onboard and offboard with care. Welcome new hires by creating their accounts, provisioning their devices, and making sure they're tech-ready for day one, including running in-person first-day orientations. Offboard departing employees by removing access at the right time, securing company data, and returning devices to inventory clean, wiped, and ready to redeploy.

  • Manage device inventory. Keep client device fleets (Mac and PC) organized: wiping, installing software, and maintaining meticulous, client-facing records as devices move to and from our office.

  • Manage access. Provision and deprovision access across a wide range of tools on a request basis, always verifying with an established point of contact that the right person is getting the right level of access.

  • Build better processes. Work with new and existing clients' stakeholders to create, refine, and document on/offboarding procedures, and collaborate with your team to continually improve our broader Crossboarding process as we grow.

  • Keep security front of mind. View every request through a security lens, with enough familiarity with SOC 2 requirements to help clients stay compliant.

  • Deliver memorable service. Communicate with users and stakeholders in a way that's clear and enthusiastic, not overly technical, and provide standout support through our ticketing system.

  • Provide on-site support across NYC. On a scheduled and ad-hoc basis, visit client offices throughout New York City in person, diving into whatever comes up and partnering with your FieldGuide team to troubleshoot and resolve it together.

  • Work where it matters most. Based out of our Manhattan office on a time-flexible Monday–Friday schedule, with very infrequent weekend availability.

Who You Are
  • You have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and your personality shines through in each and every interaction

  • You're used to juggling a dozen competing timelines at the same time, without missing a beat

  • Your teammates and clients know that when you say you'll take care of something, it's taken care of, on time and with unmatched attention to detail

  • You're resourceful and adaptable, and you know how to gracefully roll with the punches of shifting priorities, deadlines and needs

  • When a delay outside your control threatens a client deliverable, you take ownership in order get things moving again and over the finish line

  • You're reassuring, even when you may not feel sure of something yourself, and patient enough to explain the same password reset for the tenth time

  • You take pride in your trail of documentation, ensuring the next person, teammate or client is able to understand where things are

  • You thrive in an energetic, nurturing, constantly evolving environment where everyone is invested in building a great place to work

  • You've caught yourself more than once wondering about a career in technology or business operations at a really cool company, but didn't know where to start

Bonus Points If You Have Experience With
  • Operating Systems: Mac & PC

  • Collaboration & productivity suites — Microsoft 365, Google Workspace Admin, Slack Admin

  • Identity & access management — Okta, JumpCloud, Rippling, 1Password, Lastpass, Bitwarden

  • Device management (MDM) — Addigy, NinjaOne, Hexnode, Jamf, Kandji

  • Security & compliance — CrowdStrike Falcon, Drata, Vanta

  • Cloud, dev & business platforms — AWS, GCP, GitHub, Salesforce, HubSpot

Compensation & Benefits

FieldGuide is a young company ready to offer competitive pay and benefits. Salary depends on experience, but will likely start in the 70k–85k range, plus variable compensation based on team performance. If you're more experienced, we're happy to discuss increased salary and title. Additional benefits include:

  • 4% company 401(k) contribution

  • Fully paid health insurance; 90% paid vision and dental

  • Flexible PTO and a flexible schedule, including the option to work from home roughly 25% of the time

  • A company Ramp card that covers your subway commute: just tap it at the turnstile, no receipts or reimbursement paperwork

  • Career growth opportunities at a fast-growing company

  • An annual anniversary bonus and equipment/gear stipends

  • Hands-on training with an equitable ramp-up period

  • Team outings, lunches, snacks, and plenty of support and face time from leadership

  • A kick-ass office
