JOB SUMMARY

Outform is seeking a Technology Solution Engineer to join our team. Outform builds cutting-edge interactive experiences for today's retail environments. Working with some of the best-known brands in the world, we design, build, and execute retail marketing programs globally. Above all else, we always "Dare to Innovate.”

The Technology Solution Engineer plays a key role in supporting Outform's technology-enabled retail solutions by partnering closely with the Technology Sales team throughout the sales cycle. This role is responsible for translating customer and retailer requirements into clearly defined technical scopes, ensuring feasibility, cost accuracy, and operational readiness. The Technology Solution Engineer serves as a technical subject-matter expert, supporting complex, multi-project initiatives and enabling successful handoff to engineering, production, and operations teams.

DIRECT REPORTS

This role does not have direct reports. The Technology Solution Engineer works in close collaboration with the Technology Sales team and internal cross-functional partners.

SCOPE & ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Support revenue growth by enabling successful technology-driven sales opportunities.
  • Translate customer and sales requirements into clear technical scopes of work.
  • Ensure technical feasibility, accuracy, and risk mitigation across technology programs in partnership with China-based teams.
  • Support standard operating procedures across sales, operations, and delivery teams.
  • Represent Outform's technical capabilities with professionalism and clarity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the Technology Sales team to support new business and growth opportunities.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and technical workstreams simultaneously.
  • Track and document technology requirements and translate them into detailed scopes of work.
  • Develop spec sheets, system diagrams, and client-facing technical documentation.
  • Research emerging technology trends and recommend relevant solutions.
  • Lead and participate in internal and external technical meetings, providing project status updates.
  • Identify opportunities and risks; recommend, develop, and support industry-leading technology solutions.
  • Work with domestic and international vendors and partners, including China-based teams. 
  • Collaborate with domestic vendors and strategic technology partners.
  • Directly partner with Sales and Operation teams to support standard operating procedures.
  • Develop spec sheets and other client-facing documentation in partnership with vendors and China team
  • Travel as required for client meetings, workshops, trade shows, and other work-related functions.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Success in this role will be measured against metrics including but not limited to:
  • Accuracy and completeness of technical scopes and documentation.
  • Effectiveness of sales cycle technical support and contribution to deal closure.
  • Successful and timely handoff from sales to execution teams.
  • Timeliness and quality of project deliverables.
  • Reduction of technical risks and execution issues across programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience selling or supporting enterprise-level digital signage technology (hardware and software).
  • Good understanding of technology integration into retail fixtures and retail fixture deployment, especially big-box retail and club stores.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management related to product development and the technology sector.
  • 5+ years of experience in team management.
  • Fluency in business case development and high technology aptitude.
  • Experience working with engineering and production departments.
  • Experience with electronics hardware and software development life cycles.
  • Excellent communication skills written, verbal, virtual, and visual. 
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in standard office and project management applications.
  • Retail industry experience.
  • Ability to travel for client meetings, trade shows, internal company meetings, and other work-related functions.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, data science, cognitive science, or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in a technology consulting role.
  • Core understanding of DOOH and Retail Media Network industries.
  • Experience with audio and visual solutions such as networking equipment, AV head-end equipment, and audio solutions.
  • Experience with Direct View LED screen solutions.
  • Experience with retail audience measurement and analytic solutions such as computer vision, hardware sensors, and mmWave technology.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical engineering and 3D CAD drawings.
  • International import, export, and logistics experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Working conditions are in a normal office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, and stand, using hands to handle, finger, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally, the employee must crouch or kneel. The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 20 pounds. Successful performance requires good eyesight with or without corrective lenses. Requires long periods of time working at a computer and includes phone work. Travel up to 40% of the time is required and is an essential function of this position.
