Job Purpose:

BTIG is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery and enhancements of trading-specific technology platforms that power our trading business infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of trading, technology, and fintech, driving high-impact initiatives across OMS/EMS, execution platforms, algorithmic trading, and market connectivity. This is a hands-on role where you will operate as the strategic bridge between trading strategy and technology execution.

You will manage multiple concurrent, high-visibility projects for the trading desk, make day-to-day decisions on scope and priorities, and work directly with external vendors and internal teams to deliver solutions that enhance BTIG’s competitive position in electronic markets.

The ideal candidate combines strong project and stakeholder management skills with a practical understanding of how trading technology is built and runs in production – including basic networking concepts, infrastructure components, and system environments.

We are looking for a proactive self-starter who is comfortable working with limited oversight and can independently drive initiatives from concept to production.

Duties & Responsibilities:

End-to-end delivery ownership

  • Lead the full lifecycle of trading technology initiatives: requirements, design coordination, build, testing, rollout, and post-implementation stabilization.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, defining scope, timelines, and delivery plans in partnership with trading and technology leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes across trading, technology, and vendor teams without formal authority by building trust, aligning priorities, and driving decisions to closure, while establishing credibility with busy stakeholders through concise communication, anticipation of needs, and moving decisions forward with minimal demands on their time.
  • Understand high-level application and infrastructure architecture (environments, connectivity between systems, data flows) to identify dependencies early in the delivery cycle.

Stakeholder, infrastructure, and vendor management

  • Act as the primary liaison between trading desks, operations, compliance, technology teams (including infrastructure, networking, and support), and external fintech vendors.
  • Manage vendor-driven platform implementations and integrations, including OMS/EMS, execution platforms, market connectivity, and related services.
  • Ensure vendor solutions align with BTIG’s trading workflows, control environment, and technology standards.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure and networking teams on items such as connectivity, capacity, environments, and performance considerations for trading platforms.

 Business analysis and requirements

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements supporting electronic trading, order handling, execution workflows, and platform enhancements.
  • Translate trading and operational needs into clear specifications for vendor and internal development teams.
  • Map current vs. target workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, control, resilience, and client service.

 Testing, release, and production readiness

  • Lead UAT planning and coordination with trading and operations users.
  • Oversee release management and production deployment activities for trading system enhancements and new integrations.
  • Track and manage issues, risks, and dependencies, providing clear status and mitigation plans to stakeholders.

Strategy, roadmap, and fintech ecosystem awareness

  • Contribute to the technology roadmap for trading platforms in partnership with Trading Systems Technology leadership and desk heads.
  • Monitor developments across the fintech and capital markets technology ecosystem, assessing vendor capabilities and emerging solutions.
  • Support initiatives related to algorithmic trading platforms, smart order routing, market connectivity, and execution analytics.
  • Maintain a working understanding of evolving infrastructure and connectivity patterns (e.g., co-location, cloud, hybrid models, file transfer protocols, encryption )

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in project management, program management, or business analysis within capital markets, broker-dealer, electronic trading, or fintech environments.  PMP certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of equities and options market structure, electronic trading systems, and trading technology.
  • Experience with OMS/EMS and trading infrastructure supporting equities and/or listed options.
  • Familiarity with FIX protocol, market connectivity, and integrations supporting electronic trading workflows.
  • Proven experience managing technology initiatives involving external fintech vendors or third-party trading platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate trading desk requirements and operational workflows into functional and technical specifications.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience working with trading, technology, operations, and external vendors.
  • Experience delivering complex, multi-team technology initiatives in fast-paced environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and productivity tools such as JIRA and the Confluence along with  automated testing tools and relational databases to be able to work with data.
  • Solid foundational understanding of networking and infrastructure concepts relevant to trading systems (e.g., connectivity, latency, environments, firewalls/load balancers at a conceptual level, high-level architecture diagrams).
  • Ability to engage effectively with infrastructure, networking, and development teams, asking the right questions about environments, dependencies, performance, and resilience.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate effectively under time-sensitive market conditions; must be able to clearly and concisely explain and present complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.

Important Notes:

  • Must be authorized to work full time in the U.S., BTIG does not offer sponsorship for work visas of any type
  • No phone calls please, the applicant will be contacted within two weeks if successful
