Position Responsibilities:
- Performs required tool set up, maintenance, inspection and repairs.
- Manufactures assembly tools using appropriate precision tools and machinery.
- Operates various factory support equipment to move materials and tools as required.
- Uses appropriate precision equipment to build, maintain and inspect tools.
- Provides tooling support to other organizations.
- Designs various fabrication and assembly tools per part engineering drawings to enable tool fabrication using computer or paper tool design processes.
- Demonstrates functionality of fabrication and assembly tools to approving authority by manufacturing first part with new tool.
- Resolves problems with tool to produce acceptable parts and assemblies.
- Performs routine tool set up activities. Makes minor repairs.
- Performs manufacture, assembly and fabrication of tools.
- Operates various factory support equipment to move materials and tools as required.
- Provides tooling support to other organizations.
- Assists in determining fabrication and assembly processes for the design.
- Assists in reverse engineering design and fabrication processes for parts.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of experience with tooling manufacturing
- 5+ years of experience in fabrication tooling
- 5+ years of experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Proficient utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with the set-up, maintenance, trouble shooting and repair of machine tools
- Experience working with tool and cutter grinding processes, prototype development, or fabrication processes
- Experience in fabrication tooling, working with tooling and tooling processes, or working in a tooling technical field
