FULL-TIME | NYC (IN-PERSON)About Moment
Moment is building the first operating system for fixed income, the largest financial market in the world valued at $150T+ globally. We work with the largest financial institutions to bring all of their fixed income operations into a single platform. Founded by former quants at Citadel Securities and Jane Street, Moment serves global financial institutions with over $3.5T in assets after publicly launching in 2024.

The fixed income market is undergoing rapid transformation:
  • Electronic trading has skyrocketed, with corporate bond electronic volumes growing 10x over the last decade
  • Rising rates - from near zero to roughly 5% - have sparked a surge in demand
  • Financial institutions are increasingly partnering with fintechs to modernize legacy infrastructure
  • AI advances are enabling workflow automation that was once thought impossible
Despite the market’s scale, most workflows remain incredibly manual: traders juggle multiple screens, portfolio managers exchange sprawling spreadsheets, and critical coordination still happens by phone or chat. Moment is unlocking a new automation paradigm for the industry by unifying these workflows into one system.

We're backed by world class investors including Index, A16Z, and Lightspeed, and have raised $56M in funding. We recently raised a $36M Series B by Index. You can read Bloomberg's coverage of it here and the memo Index wrote on why they invested.
The Role

We are looking for a Trading Associate to join our growing and scaling business. You will be working alongside some of the brightest people in the industry to build the next generation of well-designed, robust, and scalable systems. In this role, you’ll bring scripting experience to assist in the development of trading tools and conduct basic modeling/statistical analyses for our broker-dealer side of the business.

Responsibilities
  • Interface directly with clients’ trading, execution, and risk teams to help define & integrate customer trading products
  • Work on the development of client-facing applications, such as:
    • Trade Blotter
    • Risk Management Dashboard
    • Order Entry & Booking Tools
    • Portfolio Construction & Management Applications
  • Develop internal trading tools, such as:
    • Consolidated views of market data and system trading activity
  • Monitor trading activity and work proactively to help resolve operational issues, such as ensuring TRACE reporting is completed properly, driving reconciliation in the case of trading breaks, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with trading teams (in either an agency or prop capacity) on day-to-day operations and internal systems development & monitoring
  • Scripting experience, preferably in Javascript (for building applications in Retool) & Python
  • Experience with fixed income trading operations (understanding of fixed income trading venues & protocols, TRACE reporting, handling trading breaks)
Licenses
  • SIE required
  • Preferred: Series 57 and Series 63
Compensation & Benefits

For this role, the salary range is $125,000-$180,000. Actual compensation will vary based on skills and experience.

In addition to a competitive salary and equity package, we provide every employee with:

  • Ability to grow into the leader you aspire to be. At a fast-growing company in an expanding industry, you can enjoy unmatched career growth
  • Education is encouraged with our company-wide professional development programs and course reimbursements
  • Comprehensive wellness package, providing top-notch health, dental, and vision coverage with 100% company reimbursement.
  • Competitive compensation, top-notch gym stipends, and generous equity grants
  • Flexible PTO policy that people actually use — on average, people take three weeks off per year
  • 401k match to help you save for your future
  • Paid lunches in the office, every day through Uber Eats and a free UberOne membership ($25)
