Job Summary:

The Training and Development Manager supports learning initiatives on a global scale with a focus on building manager capabilities and developing skills and careers for all employees at Wolters Kluwer. Responsible for the overall program management and implementation of the non-executive leadership development curriculum, the ad-hoc leadership development programs, and up to 3 additional learning initiatives in any given year.  Applies training and development expertise to define learning implications of business needs.  Leads the design, content development, and implementation recommendations to address prioritized learning needs. Analyzes and interprets evaluation data and feedback to formulate recommendations to improve learning programs. Recognized as a key contributor of the learning function to support Global Talent Management.  Reports to the VP of Training and Development.

**This is a Hybrid role requiring two days a week in the New York City office-28 Liberty**

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Project manages high priority global learning projects to include project scoping and planning; stakeholder (business and HR) management; design/development; vendor and budget management; global pilot(s); implementation planning; implementation management; metrics/evaluation; continuous improvement.

    • Program lead for all non-executive leadership development programs

    • Program support and consultation for ad-hoc program requests

  • Partner with Global Learning team members and other HR COEs to ensure smooth program implementation

  • Liase with Talent Partners to align the leadership development curriculum with the needs in the business and provide consultation, tools and resources to them as needed

  • Member of the steering committee for the Training and Development Community of Practice and contributes to the yearly planning and implementation of events

  • Provide valuations of current programs and offer recommendations for enhancements

  • Support and lead ad-hoc training implementation requests; from needs assessment to implementation

Key Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in training/Adult Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Business/HR or related discipline; OR, if no degree, 7+ years of consultative professional training management experience.

Experience:

Minimum: 7 years of training and instructional design in a business setting and/or management experience, including:

  • Considerable knowledge of instructional design concepts and principles.

  • Experience in learning and development including developing curricula, content and delivery strategy.

  • Working with stakeholders and subject matter experts to conduct needs assessment to identify specific performance and knowledge gaps.

  • Writing design documents, instructor guides, participant guides and other training materials.

  • Designing and facilitating traditional classroom, virtual learning and blended solutions.

  • Implementing training evaluation strategies.

  • Managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Working independently and in a team environment with attention to detail.

  • Collaborating across multiple internal teams

  • Demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Coaching, mentoring and/or training team members.

  • Demonstrating organization, prioritization, time management, and multi-tasking skills.

  • Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication.

Other Knowledge, Skills, or Certifications:

  • Workday Learning (preferred) OR other expertise in Learning Administration platforms as an instructor, and as a program lead for implementation (understanding basic functionality)

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, Forms, OneNote, Copilot).

  • Expertise in using technology platforms and tools to develop and deliver training (e.g.:  Adobe Connect, Articulate 360, Arist)

Travel Requirements:

Up to 20%

Hybrid:

8 days per month in the office; 28 Liberty

Compensation:

Target salary range CA, CT, CO, DC, HI, IL, MD, MN, NY, RI, WA: $121,350 - $170,050
