Job Summary
The Treasury Intern will support the Treasury team in managing the organization’s financial resources and day-to-day treasury operations. This internship provides hands-on exposure to cash management, financial analysis, banking operations, liquidity planning, and treasury reporting within a fast-paced insurance and fintech environment. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to learn about treasury functions in the insurance and financial services industry.
Key Responsibilities
Cash and Liquidity Support
- Assist the Treasury team with daily cash tracking and reporting activities.
- Help update cash balance spreadsheets and maintain treasury records.
- Support the preparation of short-term cash forecasts and liquidity reports.
- Monitor and organize banking information and supporting documentation.
Treasury Operations Support
- Assist with processing and tracking treasury-related transactions and payments.
- Help maintain organized records for bank accounts, wire activity, and treasury documentation.
- Support bank account administration tasks, including document collection and filing.
- Assist with reviewing treasury reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Process invoices in Oracle and support the maintenance of vendor payments
Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Compile and organize financial data for weekly and monthly treasury reporting.
- Assist with basic data analysis and variance tracking.
- Support preparation of presentations, reports, and dashboards for the finance team.
- Participate in ad hoc financial and operational projects as assigned.
Risk Management and Compliance Support
- Help ensure treasury documentation is maintained in accordance with internal policies.
- Assist with monitoring treasury procedures and internal controls.
- Support audit and compliance requests by gathering and organizing documentation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with finance, accounting, and operations teams on treasury-related tasks and projects.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Learn treasury operations and financial processes within the insurance and financial services industry.
Qualifications
Education
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Rising juniors, seniors, or graduate students preferred.
Experience
- Prior internship or coursework in finance, accounting, banking, or treasury is a plus but not required.
- Interest in insurance, financial services, treasury, or investment management preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute within a collaborative team environment.
