The Director-Treasury Risk Management, reporting into the Americas Chief Treasury Risk Officer, is a senior member of Treasury Risk Management team at MUFG Americas. The position will play an integral role in shaping a strong Treasury Risk 2nd line of defense function as required per the Enhanced Prudential Standards (EPS) and supporting Americas Chief Treasury Risk Officer in the global risk project initiatives. This is a high visibility role within the organization, and the successful candidate is expected to demonstrate the capability to closely partner with Treasury, front line business leads, internal and global stakeholders including Americas Risk Management and Governance teams, IT functions, Regulatory Reporting, Regulatory Affair and 3rd line of defense, as well as preparing the responses to regulatory inquiries and review requests, to drive for results, affect changes, and clearly communicate risk throughout the organization.
Main Responsibilities:
Manage Treasury Risk Management Governance framework and corresponding assessments including policies and procedures maintenance and coordination with CUSO Enterprise Risk Management team and Home Office key stakeholders.
Lead Treasury Risk Management’s assessment in the firm-wide Risk Profile Rating and Control Environment Rating processes
Manage the design and planning of annual CFP testing and perform the lesson learned for future enhancement.
Coordinate with Liquidity Risk Independent Review and Challenge function to conduct the annual liquidity assessments for US Risk Committee to meet Regulation YY requirements.
Demonstrate the skill sets in the liquidity regulatory policy interpretation and liquidity analytics to support the review and challenge assessments with Treasury, Businesses and Regulatory Reporting.
Support Americas Chief Treasury Risk Officer’s global risk initiatives in providing leadership in liquidity analytics and data subject matter expertise across the regions and manage the key stakeholders’ expectation on project planning, execution and deliverables.
Provide subject matter expertise and proper risk oversight to liquidity risk reporting
Maintain contact with peers in the industry and with regulatory agencies as new regulatory guidance evolves to ensure the Branch is adequately prepared to meet new guidance.
Qualifications:
15 plus years of Treasury or Treasury Risk management experience. HLR/CLR experience at a large financial institution is preferred.
Strong knowledge of financial products (FX, derivatives, commitments, deposits, secured financing activities, etc.) and liquidity stress testing (both Internal and Regulatory) is a must.
Working knowledge of EPS, ILST, 2052a, NSFR, FTP, IRR, RRP, CFP
Excellent analytical skills; Ability to lead the multi-disciplined projects by effectively influencing and communicating with the stakeholders is a must.
Well versed in various aspects of risk management (risk appetite, governance, regulatory landscape) is very desirable.
Must have experience in managing team members.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education: BA/BS degree in Finance or relevant majors. Masters is preferred. Professional certifications are a plus.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $196K - $255K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
