We are a fun, innovative, and growing Claims Operations team where you’ll learn multiple insurance products and interact with business leaders.

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive US Claims Subrogation Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will lead our subrogation efforts to recover claims payments from responsible third parties. The successful candidate will have a strong background in insurance claims and subrogation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to build technical solutions with our internal and external subrogation stakeholders.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the subrogation process, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize claim recoveries
  • Manage a team of external subrogation specialists, providing guidance and support.
  • Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including claims, legal, MI/Analytics, IT, and compliance to ensure cohesive operations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry practices, regulations, and legislation affecting subrogation.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations on subrogation activities and performance metrics for senior management.
  • Define Subrogation strategy – collaborate with Hiscox Group resource to develop and implement new strategies/processes/tools that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Subrogation team
  • Build new training programs and engage internal and external claim handling staff to approach goals and objectives

The Team:
The US Claims Subrogation Manager will report directly to the Head of Claims Compliance and Shared Services and will also contribute to the global Hiscox Group improvement programmes.

Requirements:

  • Experience managing a team of internal external subrogation claim associates (Managers, Supervisors and Claims Professionals)
  • Possess a strong understanding of insurance laws and regulations pertaining to Subrogation
  • Thorough understanding of commercial lines products, policy language, exclusions, and working with proprietary policy forms
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in claims subrogation, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance claims processes and subrogation principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Outstanding leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and technology platforms.

Position can be hybrid if based near a HUB office but is also open to remote work.

Salary range: $120k-$150k
