Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses due to credit, market, liquidity, model and other risks.
The FRM Credit Risk Management - Securitized Products Group's Fixed Income Division Secured Lending (FSL) team is seeking an Associate. The Associate will evaluate credit risk across Commercial Real Estate (CRE) warehouse facilities and pledged collateral, review loan structures, and assess risk mitigants. This role partners closely with the business unit to ensure credit risk assessments are clearly incorporated into decision-making.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead credit coverage and oversight of a CRE warehouse lending portfolio, including analysis of underlying collateral, sponsor strength, and facility structures
- Independently manage, evaluate, and recommend credit decisions on new facility originations, renewals, amendments, collateral pledges, and loan modifications
- Facilitate and lead key meetings with stakeholders, including client due diligence sessions, credit committees, and business unit discussions
- Monitor portfolio performance and credit trends and prepare ad hoc reporting for senior management
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis using CRE databases such as CoStar, Greenstreet, Intex, etc.
- Support the development and training of junior team members Experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- A minimum of 3 years credit risk or equivalent relevant experience; familiarity in CRE or related asset class is preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills required
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively across teams
- Ability to assess issues thoughtfully, apply sound judgment, and solve problems effectively
- Self-directed approach with strong follow-through and accountability
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work within established timelines

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $100,000 and $140,000 year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
