About the role.
The Use Case Governance & Operations Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining the standards, governance frameworks, and operational controls that ensure AI solutions are safe, effective, compliant, and scalable across McCain. Reporting to the VP, Artificial Intelligence, this role leads Responsible AI governance, risk classification, stage-gate reviews, portfolio reporting, and audit readiness while maintaining clear independence from use case intake and prioritization activities. The position partners closely with AI, Engineering, Risk, Privacy, and Business stakeholders to uphold quality standards and build trust in McCain's AI solutions.
What you'll be doing.
  • Own and continuously enhance McCain's Responsible AI standards across fairness, accuracy, reliability, transparency, privacy, and accountability.
  • Establish evaluation methodologies, quality thresholds, and governance criteria for AI use cases throughout their lifecycle.
  • Lead and facilitate stage-gate reviews from solution design through deployment and ongoing operational monitoring.
  • Maintain AI evaluation frameworks, testing datasets, validation practices, and red-teaming processes.
  • Own and administer the Green/Yellow/Red (RAG) risk classification process across the AI portfolio.
  • Partner with Enterprise Risk, Privacy, and Architecture stakeholders to ensure governance and policy alignment.
  • Deliver portfolio-level reporting on use case status, quality metrics, adoption, value realization, incidents, and model performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen AI governance, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure documentation, model records, decision logs, and governance controls support audit and compliance requirements.
  • Provide governance leadership and guidance across the AI organization while maintaining appropriate separation of duties from demand intake and prioritization.

What you'll need to be successful.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Risk Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in AI/ML governance, model risk management, technology audit, risk management, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of people leadership or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of AI/ML evaluation methodologies, testing frameworks, and model performance measures.
  • Experience applying Responsible AI frameworks such as NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, or similar standards.
  • Expertise in risk classification, governance processes, compliance controls, and stage-gate review methodologies.
  • Experience developing portfolio reporting, analytics, and operational performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high quality standards while enabling business agility and innovation.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
  • Experience within a large enterprise, regulated industry, or consumer packaged goods environment is considered an asset.

About the team.
The Use Case Governance & Operations Manager is part of McCain's Artificial Intelligence organization and reports directly to the VP, Artificial Intelligence. This leadership role works closely with AI Deployment & Enablement, AI Platform & Engineering, Knowledge Engineering, Enterprise Risk, Privacy, and Architecture stakeholders. The position includes people leadership responsibilities and serves as the central owner of AI governance, quality standards, and operational oversight across McCain's AI portfolio.

Compensation Package : $111,700.00 - $149,000.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility
