Already profitable and growing incredibly quickly each year, we have entered the absolute best stage of being a startup.

About Cents
Cents is a New York-based technology company passionate about transforming the laundry industry and dedicated to enabling new ways of working, earning, and living. Cents is modernizing garment care businesses by providing an all-in-one, business-in-a-box platform to help operators start, manage, and grow their businesses. By building a market-leading SaaS product for this industry, we aim to revolutionize the industry through our suite of software (Cents Point of Sale) and hardware (Pulse, Penny, and Laundroworks) products.

Our team is full of passionate technology experts obsessed with supporting and empowering SMBs. We feel the unique responsibility and opportunity we have to elevate an industry. We’re adding great talent to help achieve this mission, and that’s where you come in!

About the Role
We’re looking for a UX Design Intern who’s eager to apply user-centered design principles in a real-world SaaS environment. You’ll work closely with our design, product, and engineering teams to create seamless, user-friendly experiences that meet the needs of our customers across the laundry industry. This internship is for academic credit only, ideal for students looking to gain hands-on experience and build their portfolio.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with the team to design new product features from concept to hand-off
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using tools like Figma
  • Help maintain and expand our internal design system to ensure consistency across the platform
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering and product to ensure design intent is met in development
  • Participate in design critiques and team discussions to iterate and improve designs

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in a university or college program (junior/senior or graduate level preferred)
  • Pursuing a degree in UX Design, HCI, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of Figma (or similar tools) and a foundational understanding of UX principles
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • A portfolio (even student work) that shows off your process and problem-solving skills
  • Able to receive academic credit for the internship

What You’ll Gain

  • Experience working on a real product used by business owners in a niche industry
  • Opportunities to collaborate with designers, developers, and product leads
  • Insight into the SaaS product lifecycle from research through launch
  • Mentorship and guidance to level up your design skills
  • Real-world experience to support your career goals

To Apply
Please send your resume, portfolio (if available), and a short message about why you're excited about UX and Cents.
