Company Overview

Red 6 is an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) technology startup leading the way in synthetic air combat training. Our primary technology, supporting our ATARS product, enables pilots to simulate the cognitive challenges of flying while accessing realistic, scalable training in dynamic outdoor environments.

The Role
We are seeking a graphics Integration Engineer to bridge the gap between art and engineering, ensuring that assets and visual features are efficiently integrated into our Unreal Engine pipeline. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of real-time rendering, optimization, and the 3D asset pipeline, combined with hands-on experience in Unreal Engine. This role is specifically aimed at supporting the development of AR/VR products, to help push the boundaries of immersive experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with artists, designers, and engineers to implement assets and visual features in Unreal Engine.

  • Develop and maintain efficient Blueprints to support gameplay, tools, and visual effects.

  • Create shaders and materials in Unreal for performance and visual fidelity.

  • Design and implement VFX using Niagara, ensuring effects that are tailored for AR/VR experiences.

  • Write and maintain scripts to automate repetitive tasks and streamline the 3D pipeline.

  • Ensure proper asset integration into Unreal projects, including geometry, textures, materials, animations, and lighting.

  • Optimize assets for real-time performance, balancing visual quality and engine efficiency.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues in the art pipeline and provide solutions that improve workflow.

  • Collaborate with teams to define best practices for asset creation, naming conventions, and performance budgets.

  • Support prototyping of new features and pipelines, bridging the gap between art vision and technical feasibility.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine with strong experience in Blueprint scripting.

  • Strong understanding of the 3D asset pipeline (modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, shaders, materials).

  • Experience in asset optimization for real-time rendering (draw calls, LODs, texture streaming, etc.).

  • Familiarity with DCC tools such as Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, or Houdini.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to bridge technical and artistic disciplines.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with languages such as Python, C# or C++

  • Solid knowledge of Python for pipeline and workflow automation.

  • Knowledge of version control systems (Perforce, Git).

  • Understanding of performance profiling and debugging tools in Unreal.

  • Hands-on experience with AR/VR platforms (Quest, Vive, Hololens, Magic Leap, etc.).

  • Familiarity with design considerations for immersive experiences, including performance constraints, interaction design, and user comfort in AR/VR.

Full-Time Employee Benefits

  • Healthcare, Dental, and Vision (100% coverage for Employees)

  • Paid time off, including vacation, sick, paid holidays, and parental leave

  • Short and Long-Term Disability
