Responsibilities
- Develop and execute National Health Insurance pricing strategies for new drugs, prepare dossiers, and lead negotiations with MHLW.
- Build strong alignment and partnership among cross-functional teams including global teams to ensure optimal price setting
- Develop price assumptions and scenario plans for pipeline/inline assets, and BD opportunities with monitoring competitor pricing, policy changes, and market trends.
- Actively participate in trade association activities to establish a pro-innovative pricing framework.
- Coach and mentor team members, fostering collaboration and a speak-up culture.
Desired Skill Set
- Deep understanding of healthcare systems and NHI pricing rules in Japan, with proven ability to lead pricing negotiations (typically 5+ years or equivalent experience).
- Innovative and creative strategic thinking with a strong problem-solving capability
- Strong teamwork, executive communication and negotiation skills to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Fluency in Japanese and business-level English for cross-border collaboration.
- Demonstrated agility, creativity, and problem-solving in complex policy and pricing environments
