Location of Position       
This position is based in our NYC office with a commitment to a minimum of 2 in-office days.

Position Summary
The candidate will lead transactional due diligence, modeling, and investment screening, as well as lead (with support) M&A and project finance transactions. The Vice President is expected to complete complex tasks independently, with oversight and input from their supervisor. The position reports to the Senior Director, Acquisitions.
Core Responsibilities
  • The candidate will work with the business development team to value complex portfolios for potential acquisition, including building complex valuation models, identifying risks and opportunities and managing seller communications, with the support of relevant colleagues.
  • The candidate will act as deal manager for acquisitions, including leading seller meetings, owning, updating and auditing the portfolio model, conducting due diligence, reviewing and negotiating acquisition contracts, coordinating with third party advisors, and creating investment committee materials.
  • The candidate may act as deal manager for project financings and/or tax equity financings, including reviewing and negotiating deal contracts, responding to lender/investor Q&A, and owning the debt and or tax equity model.
  • The candidate will own modeling for select owned portfolios, working with the asset management to ensure our existing investments are kept up to date and keep an eye on potential issues of concern.
  • The candidate will mentor and teach junior acquisitions personnel on various tasks and delegate appropriately to such juniors. 
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred.
Technical Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in renewable energy acquisitions and financing.  
  • Preferred, but not required experience: 
    • Creation and modification of sophisticated Excel based models including financial statement models and valuations/LBO/DCF models. 
    • Managing and/or coordinating complex transactions with multiple stakeholders and advisors. 
    • Conducting asset due diligence and auditing financial models to ensure 100% accuracy of assumptions and information 
    • Writing comprehensive summary documents and collecting investment materials to present to senior and external audiences.  
  • Solar and/or battery storage experience is strongly preferred.

  • Technical understanding of clean energy business processes

  • Excellent interpersonal skills while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Excellence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
