What We're Looking For — Vice President, Business Development

We're looking for a Vice President of Business Development who excels at building trusted relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and helping mission-driven organizations solve complex challenges.

This is a highly consultative role focused on developing long-term partnerships across the nonprofit sector. You'll work closely with senior fundraising, marketing, and digital leaders to understand their goals and connect them with solutions that create measurable impact.

You are strategic, curious, and relationship-oriented. You know how to navigate complex buying processes, build credibility with senior stakeholders, and turn trust into long-term partnerships.

Here's What You'll Do

1. Drive Strategic Growth & Industry Relationships

  • Own and advance a portfolio of high-priority nonprofit and mission-driven organizations
  • Build relationships with senior fundraising, marketing, digital, and executive leaders across nonprofits, advocacy organizations, associations, and foundations
  • Identify opportunities that align client needs with Delve Deeper's capabilities
  • Represent Delve Deeper at conferences, events, and industry gatherings
  • Represent Delve Deeper as a thought partner and industry resource within the nonprofit community
  • Strengthen Delve Deeper's reputation and visibility within the nonprofit community

2. Advance Enterprise Opportunities

  • Lead active business development opportunities from discovery through close
  • Lead discovery conversations that uncover organizational goals, challenges, and opportunities
  • Help shape solution architecture that aligns Delve Deeper's capabilities to client needs
  • Lead proposal development, pricing discussions, and presentations
  • Improve opportunity qualification, positioning, and win rates
  • Help prospects navigate complex stakeholder and procurement processes

3. Serve as a Strategic Solutions Partner

  • Develop a deep understanding of Delve Deeper's capabilities across media, analytics, creative, technology, and data
  • Translate client challenges into integrated solutions
  • Collaborate closely with client leadership, strategy, analytics, delivery, and executive teams to develop compelling solutions and growth opportunities
  • Partner with internal teams to develop recommendations, proposals, and growth strategies that create measurable value

4. Improve Commercial Excellence

  • Maintain disciplined pipeline management and CRM practices
  • Improve forecasting, qualification, and opportunity management processes
  • Collaborate with leadership on growth planning and market strategy
  • Help strengthen Delve Deeper's overall commercial capabilities

Here's What You Bring

  • 7–15+ years of experience in agency growth, consultative sales, business development, or strategic partnerships
  • Experience selling marketing, media, analytics, technology, or consulting services
  • Deep understanding of nonprofit organizations, digital fundraising, advocacy organizations, associations, foundations, and other mission-driven sectors
  • Experience navigating complex enterprise sales cycles and RFP processes
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders and work effectively across cross-functional teams
  • A consultative mindset focused on creating long-term value for clients and the business

Location

This role is remote; however, candidates must be based in or near the New York City or Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Success in this position depends on building and maintaining strong relationships within the nonprofit community. As a result, regular in-person meetings, industry events, conferences, coffees, and client engagements are an important part of the role.

Compensation

We know that great people create great outcomes, and we believe compensation should reflect that. This role offers a base salary range of $175,000–$225,000, plus an uncapped incentive plan designed to reward growth, impact, and long-term partnership development.

Expected on-target earnings (OTE) range from $250,000–$350,000+, with meaningful upside for top performers who help drive Delve Deeper's continued success.
