We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Data Quality Engineer to join our Division Data Office team supporting the Corporate Trust line of business. This role is located in New York, NY.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Improving data quality and usability (Root cause analysis and problem solving focusing on tickets; DQ contract definition and execution; replying to regulatory mandates etc.)
- Enhance data management governance framework, establishing data principles and best practices (e.g. data access; GPO; PS/PC; Mkt Data RMC);
- Representing DSS in enterprise initiatives; bring DSS assets to table to allow an LoB to meet strategic objectives
- Key Skills: Required skills include strong stakeholder management, analytical and problem solving skills, familiarity with Agile methodology, experience in data governance, and strong communication skills.
- Technical and Industry Expertise: Expertise in managing data in a global enterprise, proficiency with Excel, Collibra, Solidatus, SQL, and experience in banking or financial services, particularly corporate trust and issue services is preferred
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5-9 years of experience in full stack software development required
- Team leadership skills
- Strong stakeholder management and people skills, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities under pressure.
- You will have strong analytical and management skills, are familiar with Agile methodology and played an active role in scrums such as backlog refinement, sprint planning and execution.
- Experience in data governance and data management and strong knowledge of best practices
- Strong organization, communication, and presentation skills
- Expertise of managing data and processes in a global enterprise environment with an understanding of database and schema design
- Excellent communication, both in listening and conveying messages to a wide range of stakeholder groups
- Strong conceptual and problem-solving skills, with an ability to develop creative and structured solutions
- Ability to influence relevant parties to ensure milestones are met.
- Ability to work under low to moderate supervision and deliver work assigned in a results oriented manner.
- Project management via Agile execution methodology.
- People Leadership, be able to inspire and build momentum across a global team but you are also a team player, happy to roll up your sleeves when needed.
- Technical proficiencies: Working with large data sets, Collibra, Solidatus, MS Excel, SQL
- Banking or Financial Services experience, especially that pertaining to Corporate Trust or related Issuer Services preferred.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $80,000 and $180,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is only part of the total rewards package, which may include eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Eligible employees also may receive other benefits (including various paid time off benefits, such as vacation and sick time), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
