Lead finance and accounting for a growing agriculture business, partner with the CEO on capital strategy, manage lender relationships and debt, oversee systems and core financial processes, build a small finance team, and support M&A diligence and financing.
- Lead the finance and accounting function at a growing agriculture business
- Serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team
- $220–270K base salary + 20% bonus + equity ownership; remote from California
Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO on capital structure, capital allocation, and long-term financial strategy
- Own lender relationships and debt strategy, including refinancing and covenant management
- Work with operations leadership on cost performance by region and crop, and push for decisions that improve margins
- Bring independent, rigorous financial judgment to executive decision-making
- Set the multi-year direction for finance and accounting as the company grows
- Build and manage a small finance team, deciding what should be in-house versus outsourced versus automated
- Own the systems and reporting stack (ERP, FP&A tools, and financial/operational data), replacing what doesn't work
- Oversee core financial processes: month-end close, A/P, A/R, budgeting, and forecasting
- Support due diligence and financing for M&A initiatives
Qualifications
- 7+ years in an enterprise-wide financial leadership capacity
- Food, agribusiness, or manufacturing experience required
- Experience building or scaling a finance function
- Strong analytical skills and clear, direct communication
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field required
- Experience with acquisition-led growth or M&A integration preferred
- Must be based in California and willing to travel within the state
