What you’ll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Lead Software Engineer in New York, New York to develop enterprise applications for the Finance division. Renovate and automate business processes involving the production of the firm's balance sheet and reporting financials to regulators globally. Maintain the technology platform that enables the Finance Regulatory Controllers group

collect and report on the firm's balance sheet, capital and liquidity ratios, and financial reports. Build and maintain proprietary in-house and vendor-based applications that operate on large volumes of data, perform critical financial calculations, and produce complex reporting. Implement agile principles for the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and work on a range of technologies including web based front-end, java-based server side, and databases. Renovate the tech stack further to adopt cloud-based technologies. Work on AI initiatives using Snowflake Cortex to integrate with the firm’s “Talk to Your Data” capabilities. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

What you’ll bring to the role:

-Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field of study

-Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Principal Consultant, Manager, Software Engineer, or a closely related occupation

-Requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills:

  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC);
  • Datawarehousing concepts and tools;
  • Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines;
  • DevOps;
  • Jenkins;
  • Microsoft SQL Server;
  • Autosys;
  • Data Analysis, Data Modelling, and Business Analysis; and
  • Agile Methodologies.

-Requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills:

  • Teradata and Snowflake;
  • Scala and Python;
  • Tableau;  
  • Financial Accounting; and
  • System Reliability Engineering.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $194,000 and $210,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
