You’ll have direct responsibility for portfolio management, trading, research, and analysis across agency and non-agency mortgage-backed securities, along with the opportunity to build and enhance the analytical models and platforms that support structured credit fixed income investing. This is a hands‑on role that offers real ownership, intellectual challenge, and exposure to senior investment leadership.

  • Performs regular surveillance on existing fixed income holdings.

  • Trading of fixed income securities with a focus on agency and non-agency RMBS

  • Experience in mortgage-backed securities required. Experience in other structured credit classes is a plus. Internal Investments portfolio managers regularly back each other up in the different structured credit asset classes.

  • Support the reporting function with analysis as needed for the investment team and the board.

  • Maintain relationships with a wide variety of broker dealers to maximize access to assets, liquidity, and research.

  • Train/cross-train junior staff in internal fixed income as dictated by the Chief Investment Officer or Head of Internal Investments.

  • Ad hoc analytical and trading support as needed.

  • Assign project work to interns as needed.

  • Use network to stay on top of industry best practices.

  • Work across departments in a professional and positive manner to achieve goals.

  • Coordinates purchasing securities for collateral pledging as dictated/needed by the middle office.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 6–10 years of investments-related experience, with a minimum of 6 years required; ideal candidates will have 8+ years

  • Direct, hands-on experience (minimum 6–12 months) trading and/or managing portfolios of Agency residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS). Deeper agency RMBS experience strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated strong interest in and enthusiasm for Agency RMBS, including a willingness to engage with the complexity of the sector

  • MBA from a top-tier program or CFA designation preferred

  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across investment, trading, and operations teams

The base salary range for this position is $215,000 - $240,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
