Edit high-retention short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Meta Ads. Create and test strong hooks and multiple ad variations, repurpose UGC and product footage, add captions/sound/design, collaborate with media buyers, iterate by performance data, and deliver high-volume creatives on fast turnarounds.
About the Role
We're looking for a short-form video editor who lives and breathes TikTok and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ad creative. This isn't a "make it look pretty" editing role — it's a performance editing role. You understand that the first 3 seconds decide everything, that a single video can be recut into 10 winning variations, and that the difference between a scroll and a sale is the hook and the angle.
You'll take our existing footage, UGC, product clips, and past creative — and turn it into thumb-stopping ads that convert.
What You'll Do
- Edit high-retention, high-engagement short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Meta Ads
- Write and cut strong hooks (visual + text) and test multiple hook variations per concept
- Develop and execute different creative angles for the same product (problem/solution, social proof, UGC, listicle, "TikTok made me buy it," etc.)
- Clip, repurpose, and remix existing videos and older creative into fresh, native-feeling ads
- Cut multiple variations of winning ads for A/B testing (hook swaps, different intros, aspect ratios, lengths)
- Add captions, sound design, trending audio, on-screen text, and pacing that keeps viewers watching
- Stay current on TikTok/Meta trends, formats, and what's working in the ad account
- Collaborate with the media buying / marketing team, iterating quickly based on ad performance data
- Deliver on fast turnaround timelines with a high volume of creatives
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience editing for TikTok and/or Meta Ads (please share a portfolio, reel, or examples of ads you've cut)
- Deep understanding of hooks, angles, and retention — you can explain why a video works, not just edit it
- Strong grasp of what makes short-form content native and scroll-stopping (not corporate or overproduced)
- Ability to repurpose and reframe existing footage into new, high-performing clips
- Proficiency in editing tools (CapCut, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or equivalent)
- Fast, self-directed, and comfortable producing a high volume of creative
- Bonus: experience editing direct-response / DTC e-commerce ads, working with UGC creators, or a track record of ads that actually drove results
Nice to Have
- Basic understanding of ad performance metrics (hook rate, hold rate, CTR, ROAS)
- Experience with home décor, lifestyle, or product-based brands
- Ability to source trending audio and formats before they peak
