About Us:

Autopilot is a next-gen trading app and registered investment advisor (RIA) that makes professional-style investing accessible to everyone. Users can autopilot the portfolios of politicians, public figures, and top investors, or create and launch their own fund for others to follow. Built for transparency and ease of use, Autopilot reimagines how people invest, manage, and grow their money.

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a Video Editor to join our Marketing team and work closely with co-founder Chris Josephs to turn a steady stream of ideas into compelling short- and long-form videos. Create edits with strong storytelling, sharp pacing, expressive typography, and sound that makes people stop scrolling and keep watching.

The mix leans toward short-form—at least 60% of the work—with the rest spanning longer formats such as YouTube videos, interviews and podcasts, and brand films. You should be equally comfortable landing a strong hook in seconds and sustaining a story over several minutes.

You’ll work with a team whose audience includes 3.5M followers on X, 2M on Instagram, and 500K on TikTok, generating 75M+ impressions per month. There’s no shortage of ideas—and a large audience ready to see your work.

Responsibilities

  • Edit a mix of short- and long-form videos, from raw footage and creative brief to final delivery, with at least 60% focused on short-form content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and X.

  • Edit longer YouTube videos, interviews, podcasts, and brand films, and adapt longer footage into standalone social cuts.

  • Build compelling stories through footage selection, pacing, music, sound design, captions, and motion graphics.

  • Collaborate directly with Chris and the Marketing team to develop concepts, refine edits, and bring new ideas to life.

  • Adapt videos for different platforms and test variations in hooks, length, and creative approach.

  • Use audience feedback and performance results to improve future edits.

  • Keep footage, project files, and final assets organized.

Qualifications

  • A portfolio spanning short- and long-form video, demonstrating strong storytelling, pacing, and visual taste.

  • Proficiency in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or comparable editing software.

  • Comfort with motion graphics, animated typography, audio editing, and color correction.

  • An understanding of short-form hooks and platform conventions, alongside the narrative structure and pacing that sustain longer videos.

  • Ability to take feedback, meet deadlines, and manage multiple edits with attention to detail.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience editing cinematic montages, motivational content, or creator-led social videos.

  • Experience with After Effects and reusable motion templates.

  • An interest in investing, finance, and internet culture.

Benefits:

  • Unlimited PTO and a two-week year-end holiday shutdown, plus company holidays.

  • 100% of employee and dependent health, dental, and vision premiums covered.

  • Equinox memberships.

How to Apply:

Include a portfolio or links to your strongest short- and long-form video edits. Tell us which parts you owned and share any performance results you can.

Equal Employment Opportunity:

Autopilot is an equal opportunity employer.

Work Authorization:

Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States. Autopilot cannot sponsor or transfer employment visas at this time.
