Our goal is to help Americans find convenient and affordable healthcare. We offer solutions for consumers, employers, health plans, and anyone else who shares our desire to provide affordable prescriptions to all Americans.
About the role
GoodRx is looking for a Vice President of AI Strategy & Deployment to lead the company-wide effort to embed AI into high-impact business workflows across the company, with enterprise-wide scope and executive visibility. This is a peer role to Data, ML, Product, and Engineering leadership. This role partners closely with Data, Product, and Engineering leaders to align priorities and secure resources to deliver against AI roadmap. Existing leaders own platform, models, and infrastructure, while this role is accountable for ensuring those capabilities translate into measurable business outcomes at scale.
This person will be the connective tissue between AI platform capabilities (agentic architecture on Vertex AI, RAG pipelines, LLM integrations) and enterprise business priorities, owning where and how AI is applied to the highest-value problems across the enterprise. They need to understand the technical landscape deeply enough to set solution direction and hold a high bar for technical decisions in partnership with technical leaders, and be a strong business partner to drive adoption across non-technical functions. This role operates with enterprise-wide scope and is expected to influence and shape priorities across Product, Engineering, and Data Science.
What You Will Own
Cross-Company AI Roadmap. You will own the company-wide AI roadmap, including identification, prioritization, and sequencing of AI use cases across GoodRx. You will define prioritization frameworks aligned to business impact and establish governance processes that determine which AI initiatives are funded, resourced, and delivered. You will own business and adoption outcomes of AI deployment across the company, and co-own outcomes with the functional leaders of each workflow being transformed. Delivery is executed through partner teams, with this role responsible for ensuring alignment, prioritization, and follow-through.
AI Agent Strategy for Pharma Direct. Our fastest-growing revenue line has a multi-agent AI roadmap aligned to a private equity sponsor’s (“Sponsor”) S1 to S3 maturity framework. This role will own prioritization and drive deployment of AI agents within Pharma Direct in partnership with business and engineering teams. Focus includes: patient-program matching, adherence orchestration, manufacturer ROI intelligence, and Employer Direct automation. Year 1 focus includes Pharma Direct and a targeted set of additional high-impact workflows, with clear expectations for production deployment and measurable business outcomes.
AI Platform Direction. In partnership with Engineering, you will set business-driven requirements and priorities for AI platform evolution. Translate business needs into platform requirements and drive prioritization in partnership with Engineering and Data leaders; Engineering retains ownership of design and delivery.
Enterprise AI Adoption. Own enterprise adoption of AI solutions across priority business functions. Partner with functional leaders to identify, prioritize, and deploy AI into key workflows (e.g., sales enablement, customer support, finance, legal operations), and ensure sustained adoption. Establish repeatable playbooks for AI deployment and adoption.
AI Governance & Trust. Own the establishment of AI governance standards in partnership with Legal, Security, and Data teams. This includes hallucination monitoring, bias detection, audit trails, HIPAA/FTC compliance, and the principle that AI in healthcare must assist and clarify, not replace clinical judgment.
Sponsor’s AI Maturity Partnership. Drive the executive relationship with Sponsor's technology team on AI maturity scoring and alignment. Ensure GoodRx's maturity ratings accurately reflect deployed capabilities, in-flight initiatives, and enterprise progress toward S3. Represent GoodRx at portfolio-level forums (including the CXO events), communicating progress, priorities, and outcomes.
Success in this role is defined by how quickly and effectively GoodRx translates AI capability into production deployments with measurable business impact (revenue, efficiency, or cost savings) and sustained adoption across business functions.
What You Will Not Own
This role does not own Data, Engineering, or Product teams. You operate as a peer and partner to those leaders, shaping priorities and outcomes without direct ownership of their teams or headcount.
Profile & Qualifications
Deep technical fluency in modern AI/ML. Ability to evaluate and select the right approach for given a problem (e.g. fine-tuning vs. RAG vs. agentic workflow vs. classical ML) and set direction accordingly. Strong understanding of modern AI systems, including transformer architectures, embedding models, vector databases, prompt engineering, agent orchestration patterns (e.g. MCP, tool use, multi-step reasoning), and MLOps at production scale. You do not need to write production code, but you are expected to set solution direction and hold teams accountable to a high technical bar.
Experience deploying AI across business functions. This is not a research or pure engineering role. We need someone who has a proven track record of owning and driving AI from concept to production across multiple business domains (commercial, operational, and analytical). Experience deploying AI outside of engineering or product (e.g., in sales enablement, legal operations, finance, customer support) is essential. This is a core differentiator for this role.
Enterprise leadership and cross-functional influence. You have demonstrated the ability to drive enterprise-wide adoption across functions without direct ownership. This requires exceptional stakeholder management, the ability to build credibility quickly with senior leaders, and a track record of driving meaningful change through influence, prioritization and alignment.
Healthcare, pharma, or regulated industry experience. Preferred, not required. Experience navigating compliance, privacy, and trust considerations in AI in healthcare deployments is highly valuable. Experience in other regulated industries (e.g. financial services, insurance), is also applicable.
Executive communication. You have experience presenting to senior executives, including the CEO and Board-level stakeholders, as well as external partners. You have the ability to translate complex AI capabilities into clear business impact, driving alignment and trust with non-technical stakeholders.
AI Platform & Capabilities
Our AI ecosystem includes LLM platforms (Vertex AI, OpenAI), RAG pipelines with vector search, and agentic architecture supporting multi-step reasoning and tool use. We operate on a modern data and ML stack (Databricks, BigQuery, MLflow, Looker) with a composable agent library and product-grade MLOps practices. AI solutions are deployed through the standard GoodRx SDLC, with governance, evaluation, and compliance integrated into delivery.
Why This Role Matters Now
The Sponsor has established an S1 to S3 AI maturity mandate across their portfolio, setting clear expectations for enterprise AI adoption and impact. S3 represents a future state where autonomous AI agents complete end-to-end workflows. GoodRx is currently at S2 and progressing toward S3. This role is accountable for accelerating the deployment velocity required to achieve that transition. Impact will be visible at the board level, across the Sponsor’s portfolio, and directly reflected in company performance.
