About Us

NewGen is a global social creative and creator agency with over 100 people across offices in London, Manchester, Paris and New York. We partner with leading brands to shape culture, tell stories that matter, and drive meaningful impact through social-first creative and creators.

We are not an advertising agency. We live Social, move at the speed of culture, and build strategies designed to perform where people actually spend their time.

The Role

We are looking for a Director, Commercial to be the front line of new business growth for NewGen North America. Your focus is outward: identifying new opportunities, building relationships with prospective clients, and bringing warm, qualified leads into the business for the team to pursue and close. You thrive out in the world — meeting prospects, attending events, and nurturing connections — and you represent the NewGen brand with confidence and authenticity.

This role reports to the CCO and works closely with the North American Managing Director. You will bring hands-on experience generating new business through proactive networking and prospecting within the social, influencer or creator marketing space, a genuine curiosity about brand and marketing challenges, and the credibility to open doors with senior marketing decision-makers across North America.

We are looking for someone who can make an early, tangible impact - this is not a role with a long ramp-up period. We expect a credible plan to generate qualified pipeline within the first 90 days, drawing on relationships and market credibility you already hold.

Performance will be measured primarily on qualified pipeline generated, conversion of introductions into briefs, and the quality of relationships built across the territory.

What You'll Do

Opportunity Hunting

  • Proactively prospect and network — digitally and in person — to identify and cultivate new brand relationships across social, influencer and creator briefs
  • Represent NewGen at conferences, industry events and client-side meetups
  • Generate warm introductions and qualified leads for the commercial team to develop and close
  • Farm existing and former client relationships for growth and referral opportunities
  • Build and nurture relationships with pitch consultants, media owners and holding-company partners across North America

Relationship Building

  • Become a trusted ambassador of the NewGen brand — articulate our differentiators and positioning with clarity and passion
  • Cultivate and maintain a structured cadence of outreach and follow-up with prospective clients and partners
  • Support NewGen's most strategically significant pitches and commercial conversations, working alongside the US Managing Director
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify thought-leadership moments and speaking opportunities that build inbound interest in NewGen

Industry Presence

  • Stay current on platform shifts, creator economy trends, competitor positioning and brand investment patterns — feeding market intelligence back into the commercial team
  • Build fluency in NewGen's Creator AI technology and proprietary Multiple™ platform, and speak to it credibly with prospects

Performance & Reporting

  • Manage and track outbound pipeline activity in NewGen's CRM
  • Set targets and report on outreach activity, meetings secured and opportunities advanced on a regular cadence
  • Partner with the US Managing Director and commercial team on forecasting and conversion metrics

What We're Looking For

  • 5–8 years in business development, new business or revenue-generating roles within social, influencer or creator marketing
  • Proven track record of generating new business through proactive networking and prospecting — not just managing inbound pipeline
  • An active, transferable network of marketing decision-makers you can credibly activate early in the role
  • Strong fluency in the influencer, creator and social media landscape
  • Skilled storyteller and communicator, comfortable representing the agency to senior marketing contacts
  • CRM fluency and comfort with structured pipeline reporting
  • High EQ, curiosity and a builder mindset — comfortable operating with minimal onboarding support

Bonus Points For

  • Existing relationships or deal experience in gaming, spirits/beverage, hospitality, fintech or sports — verticals closely aligned to NewGen's current client base
  • Strong relationships within the US marketing events, awards and trade body community
  • Experience farming existing agency relationships for organic growth, not just new-logo generation

What We Value at NewGen

Energy — You bring ideas, opinions and momentum

Quality — You care deeply about the work and push it to be better

Collaboration — No egos, just smart people building together

Creativity — You think in ideas, not formats

Partnership — You show up as a true partner to clients and teammates

Compensation

Base salary range: $150,000–$190,000, pending appropriate experience

Commission: A performance-based commission structure tied to qualified pipeline generated and converted — designed to reward fast-moving new business impact and offer meaningful upside beyond base

Benefits

  • 30 days holiday (not including Federal Holidays), inclusive of the Reset Policy below
  • Reset Policy — up to 10 non-contractual rest days (full details in the Reset Policy; may be amended or withdrawn at any time)
  • Birthday leave — an additional paid day off on your birthday
  • Holiday shutdown — company-wide closure at year-end
  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental and Vision)
  • Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)
  • Paid Time Off (Sick and Public Holidays)
  • Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity)
  • Training and Development
