About the Role

We are seeking a Director – GenAI Product Strategy  to support the build, development and execution of AI-powered products and capabilities that drive business growth, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role will be instrumental in supporting the roll out of AI at OneMain, working cross-functionally with engineering, data science, credit, compliance, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the AI function including governance, product, training agenda and the organization journey towards becoming a GenAI fluent organization.

  • Lead the development of AI solutions across areas such as credit decisioning, fraud detection, customer personalization, and operational automation.

  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to translate business needs into scalable AI models and tools.

  • Ensure AI products meet regulatory, ethical, and fairness standards.

  • Use data and experimentation to validate hypotheses and optimize product performance.

  • Communicate product vision, progress, and impact to senior leadership and stakeholders.

  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Foster alignment across cross-functional teams through clear documentation, presentations, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

  • 10 + years of product management experience, with at least 2 years focused on AI/ML products.

  • Proven track record of delivering AI-driven solutions in a regulated industry (financial services preferred).

  • Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, model lifecycle, and data infrastructure.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire across all levels of the organization.

  • Experience with agile methodologies and product development tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; advanced degree a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with responsible AI principles and model governance.

  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and GenAi vendors.

  • Knowledge of financial services, lending, or credit risk analytics.

Location:

This role is Hybrid. You should be located within a commutable distance to our office in New York City, NY, with expectations to be in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Salary:

Target base salary range for New York, NY is $180-$230k, which is based on various factors including skills and work experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive compensation program that is based on individual and company performance.
