Reporting to the EVP of Development for the Americas, the VP of Development - Americas will play a critical leadership role in driving Ennismore’s growth strategy across the Americas region. This role will be responsible for development and feasibility efforts, originating, negotiating and executing across Ennismore’s lifestyle brand portfolio.

This role is highly strategic and externally facing, requiring a strong commercial mindset, deep hospitality development expertise, and the ability to lead complex transactions from origination through deal execution. The VP of Development will work closely with owners, investors, brokers, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality growth aligned with Ennismore’s brands and values.

This position must be based in NY metropolitan area and requires an in-office presence of 2-3 days per week.

Job Description

What you'll do...

  • Drive hotel development opportunities across priority markets in the Americas, from deal origination through contract execution.
  • Own and lead deal negotiations, including structuring management, franchise, or hybrid agreements; reviewing and negotiating commercial terms; and aligning internal stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Oversee deal financial modeling, underwriting, and feasibility analyses, ensuring accuracy, robustness of assumptions, and alignment with strategic and investment objectives.
  • Evaluate project viability by synthesizing market intelligence, financial analysis, brand strategy, and risk assessment to deliver clear, actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Provide strategic leadership on investment cases, valuations, and capital structuring in partnership with owners, developers, and internal finance teams.
  • Manage due diligence processes and internal approvals, coordinating closely with legal, operations, brand, finance, IT, and People teams to ensure seamless deal progression.
  • Build, maintain, and deepen relationships with owners, developers, investors, brokers, and capital partners to expand Ennismore’s presence and deal flow.
  • Represent Ennismore at industry events, conferences, and partner meetings, acting as a senior ambassador for the company and its lifestyle brands.
  • Deliver market insights, competitive intelligence, and strategic recommendations based on pipeline activity, regional performance, and lifestyle hospitality trends to guide long-term growth.
  • Mentor and guide junior development and feasibility team members, providing oversight, coaching, and quality control on analyses and deliverables.

Qualifications

What we're looking for...

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in hotel development, real estate investment, hospitality consulting, hotel brokerage, or asset management, with direct hotel industry experience required.
  • Proven track record of sourcing, underwriting, negotiating, and executing hotel development or conversion deals.
  • Advanced financial modeling expertise, including underwriting, proforma development, valuations, and investment analysis; expert-level Excel proficiency required.
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex financial and strategic concepts to senior executives and external partners.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and navigating complex internal approval processes.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and negotiation skills, with a strong network across owners, developers, brokers, and capital partners, and the confidence to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leaders to achieve shared goals.
  • You work well under pressure, can juggle lots of demands & deadlines and are an expert at prioritizing
  • You combine analytical and methodical thinking with strong attention to detail and a solution-focused approach.
  • You take ownership of important issues, solve problems, and make effective decisions.

The annual base salary for this role is $200,000.
