Mission-driven at our core, our purpose is to create amazing sports experiences for all. To further this mission, we founded and continue to support the FundPlay Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to strengthening sports-based youth development organizations. FundPlay helps bring meaningful sports opportunities to hundreds of thousands of underserved kids and communities every year.

Role Mission: As the technology leader, you will guide our engineering organization to deliver innovative solutions, align technical strategy with business objectives, and drive measurable impact across the company. The Vice President of Engineering will lead this effort with full ownership of engineering strategy and execution. As a key executive leader, you will scale and strengthen our engineering organization, drive delivery and architecture, and guide our platform modernization. You will ensure consistent roadmap execution, align engineering tightly with business and user needs, and build a high-performing, accountable, and empowered team.

  • Lead roadmap delivery with a focus on predictability, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
  • Establish and track engineering KPIs such as coverage %, regression escape rate, change failure rate, MTTR, and velocity to make excellence visible and celebrated.
  • Build a culture of ownership and professionalism where engineers are accountable for quality, reliability, and clarity, and unsafe shortcuts are rejected.
  • Drive adoption of testing discipline (80%+ coverage in core domains, automated regression suite in CI/CD, contract tests for microservices).
  • Ensure every service and domain has clear documentation including runbooks, READMEs, and API contracts, and embed cross-squad reviews and systemic collaboration.
  • Champion a culture of craft where professional standards such as tests, documentation, clean code, monitoring, and refactoring are reinforced through onboarding, reviews, and recognition.
  • Scale the engineering organization by developing leaders, optimizing team structure, and fostering empowerment.
  • Introduce AI and automation to improve both product capabilities and engineering productivity.
  • Ensure best practices in security, data privacy, and compliance.
  • Act as a visible executive leader who inspires engineers, aligns stakeholders, and builds confidence with the CEO, board, and investors.
Who You Are:
  • An accomplished engineering executive with 10–12+ years of leadership experience, including 5+ years at the VP level (or equivalent) in SaaS.
  • Proven success scaling engineering organizations by developing talent, coaching leaders, and building structures that enable teams to thrive.
  • Strong technical acumen with deep SaaS architecture expertise (cloud-native, API-first, microservices, modern DevOps).
  • Experienced in platform modernization and transformation, including raising test coverage, reducing regression risk, and driving system reliability.
  • A believer in user- and product-centered development, with a consumer mindset that ensures intuitive, high-quality experiences in B2B SaaS.
  • A communicator with the executive presence to inspire teams, align stakeholders, and build board and investor confidence.
  • Commercially minded and experienced in PE-backed environments where engineering outcomes tie directly to enterprise value creation.
  • Skilled at managing distributed (onshore and offshore) teams while optimizing for speed, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Forward-looking, with experience applying AI and modern engineering practices to product development and team productivity.
  • Known for ruthless prioritization and disciplined execution, focusing on what drives the greatest impact.
