JOB DESCRIPTION

At Interplay we invest, coach and cofound companies.

We’re looking for a versatile hotshot to join Interplay as a VP Engineering. This person will lead a handful of technology initiatives that will enhance our portfolio. These are not just simple software implementation projects; we intend to build the next generation of forward thinking tools that merge where investing is with where it’s headed. It’s the right role for a veteran builder who wants to leverage their experience across more than one company.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Architect the future of asset management technology by defining and executing the product roadmap for next-generation tools that blend investing, portfolio support and systems automation.

  • Lead core technology initiatives across the firm and our portfolio delivering straightforward but high-impact software solutions that immediately improve operations and visibility.

  • Get your hands dirty and write code.

  • Build and oversee new platforms including portfolio management intelligence, talent-matching systems, and AI-driven insights capabilities that scale across multiple companies.

  • Partner with investment, operations, and portfolio leadership to understand needs, translate them into systems, and accelerate value creation.

  • Establish scalable engineering standards and select the right technologies, vendors, and processes to move fast while maintaining reliability and security.

  • Implement integrations and data pipelines that unify information across a decentralized portfolio and transform it into actionable dashboards and workflows.

  • Champion AI adoption by identifying automation opportunities and embedding intelligent tooling into everyday workflows.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You are a “people person” who develops genuine relationships with the primary intent of helping others.

  • You are a self starter and motivated to learn.

  • You are a problem solver and someone who’s not afraid to get their hands dirty.

  • You are a swiss army knife who can handle a multitude of different responsibilities.

  • You are organized.

  • You have experience managing timelines and are able to organize information into plans.

  • You have a creative mindset and can generate innovative ideas for events and marketing campaigns, always staying ahead of industry trends.

  • You are a proactive problem solver, capable of identifying potential issues and providing timely solutions.

  • You are a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and building strong relationships.

  • You are a person who laughs a lot.

  • You are highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism.

  • You are tech-savvy and comfortable working with various software and tools related to asset management, investing, automation, AI, content creation, and data management.

  • You are a person who gets things done, finds a way around walls and pursues excellence.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 7–10+ years of experience in technology and product development at a fast-growth company.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field (MS a plus).

  • Proven ability to own a roadmap end-to-end—from concept to deployment to iteration.

  • Strong product mindset with the ability to work directly with leadership to turn business needs into smart, pragmatic solutions.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a client-first mindset.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment.

  • U.S. work authorization and ability to work on-site with leadership as needed.
