About the Role

This is FINNY’s first VP of Engineering. You will work directly with the founders and own the entire engineering organization end-to-end. This is not a maintenance role. This is a build-and-scale role. You will define the engineering culture, hire and develop the team, and architect the systems that power FINNY’s next phase of growth.

You’ll be responsible for scaling from an early, high-output team into a world-class engineering org capable of building category-defining AI products. This role is highly cross-functional, highly visible, and deeply tied to company outcomes.

What You’ll Do
  • Own engineering outcomes: deliver high-quality, scalable systems that drive business impact

  • Build and scale the team: hire, develop, and lead a high-performing engineering org across product, data, and AI

  • Set technical direction: define architecture, tooling, and infrastructure to support rapid growth and scale

  • Partner with founders: translate company vision into technical strategy and execution

  • Drive execution excellence: ensure fast, reliable shipping with strong engineering rigor

  • Establish engineering culture: set a high bar for talent, accountability, and craftsmanship

  • Lead through ambiguity: bring structure and clarity to complex, evolving problem spaces

  • Collaborate cross-functionally: partner closely with Product, Design, and GTM to deliver cohesive outcomes

  • Balance speed and scale: build systems that move fast today and won’t break tomorrow

  • Be a multiplier: unblock teams, improve velocity, and elevate everyone around you

What We’re Looking For
  • 15+ years of engineering experience

  • 10+ years of experience managing and scaling engineering teams

  • Proven track record of building and scaling teams in high-growth startup environments (Series A → C+ preferred)

  • Experience leading engineering orgs across product, platform, and/or AI/ML systems

  • Strong technical depth with the ability to go deep when needed

  • Experience partnering closely with founders and executive teams

  • In-person, NYC (5 days/week in Chelsea office)
