Position Overview
The VP of Finance and Accounting will be responsible for managing both the Finance and Accounting teams, with a primary focus on day-to-day financial operations while providing strategic leadership across both areas. This role will support the CFO in managing relationships with lenders, the board, and private equity partners, ensuring rigorous budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and comprehensive reporting. This compensation range is specific to New York City and takes into account numerous factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to a candidates' qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and location. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $175,000 to $200,000, which does not include other compensation benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:
Finance Leadership & Strategy
- Daily Financial Oversight: Lead day-to-day FP&A operations, ensuring accuracy in financial management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop a process and timeline and oversee the execution of detailed budgeting and forecasting processes, aligning financial goals with business strategy.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to internal (executive committee, leadership, and budget owners) and external stakeholders (lenders, board, private equity partners) and regulatory bodies. This would include Monthly Financial Statements, Management Reporting, MD&A, KPI reporting and weekly revenue reporting.
- Business Analysis: Conduct in-depth business analysis to support strategic decisions around products, projects, and make-versus-buy evaluations, with proper presentation and summary of the analysis.
- Strategic Planning: Support the CFO in collaborating with senior management to develop long-term financial strategies that support business growth and operational excellence.
- Financial Controls & Compliance: Oversee the accounting function to ensure strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and accurate financial record-keeping and timely reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor, analyze, and optimize cash flow, working closely with the CFO to manage collections, disbursements, liquidity and funding requirements and reporting.
- Annual Audit: Support the Sr. Director of Accounting in execution of the annual audit and provide assistance throughout the year guiding accounting activities that may impact GAAP or changes to accounting policies and manage the accounting documentation to limited and immaterial audit adjustments.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices in accounting processes, systems, and policies to improve efficiency and financial accuracy.
- Oversee Tax management and reporting, and partner with accounting partner to execute necessary returns and payments.
- External Reporting: Prepare financial reporting and analysis for external stakeholders including lenders, board members, and private equity partners.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the CFO and cross-functional teams to align financial planning and strategy with overall business objectives.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decisions and address emerging business challenges.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced finance/accounting certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in a high-growth or PE-backed environment.
- Proven track record in both finance and accounting, with substantial experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
- Experience in B2B Business Information or related industries preferred.
- Skills:
- Leveraging technology and AI for expediency and efficiency.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems is a plus. Experience in Sage, Ramp, and Tableau is also a plus.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
