Title: VP, HR Operations Manager

Location: Midtown NYC

Salary Range*: $125,000-$175,000

The firm invests across a diversified set of strategies and asset classes, partnering with experienced portfolio managers and teams while providing centralized infrastructure, risk management, and operational support.

Role Overview

The HR Operations Manager is responsible for the execution and oversight of the firm’s core HR operational functions. This role requires strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to engage effectively with senior investment and business stakeholders. The position is hands-on and execution-focused, operating with a high degree of autonomy in a lean, performance-driven environment. The position will report to the Chief Strategy Officer with frequent interaction with the Chief Executive Officer and is primarily based out of the firm’s New York City office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own payroll administration in coordination with Finance and external providers.
  • Serve as primary administrator of ADP, maintaining system integrity, reporting accuracy, and proper controls.
  • Manage employee lifecycle administration, including compensation updates, bonuses, new hires, and terminations.
  • Work with employment counsel and legal on immigration processes, providing updates to hiring managers.
  • Oversee onboarding from offer documentation through day-one readiness, coordinating with Legal, Finance, Operations, and IT.
  • Manage offboarding processes, including final payroll, benefits transitions, and system access removal.
  • Administer health and retirement benefits programs and serve as primary liaison to brokers and providers.
  • Lead annual open enrollment and manage related employee communications.
  • Maintain confidential and compliant employee records.
  • Interface directly with senior leadership on HR operational matters, exercising sound judgment and discretion.
  • Assist with open hiring mandates, preparing job descriptions and updating the applicant tracking system as required.
  • Support regulatory and audit requirements related to HR and payroll.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen controls and scalability.
  • Operate independently with a high degree of integrity and accountability.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of HR operations, HR administration, or payroll experience, preferably within financial services or investment management.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll administration and HRIS platforms; ADP experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems, specifically Greenhouse, a plus.
  • High level of discretion in handling confidential information.
