Location:

New York, NY

Condé Nast is a global media company producing the highest quality content with a footprint of more than 1 billion consumers in 32 territories through print, digital, video and social platforms. The company's portfolio includes many of the world's most respected and influential media properties including Vogue, Vanity Fair, Glamour, Self, GQ, The New Yorker, Condé Nast Traveler/Traveller, Allure, AD, Bon Appétit and Wired, among others.

The Role

This leadership role is a member of the Technology Leadership Team. The Vice President, Product, Commerce Experiences is a senior leadership role accountable for defining and executing the product strategy that drives the evolution of Condé Nast’s commerce ecosystem. This role will shape the future of commerce experiences across our brands, accelerating revenue growth, deepening consumer engagement, and leading the evolution of Conde Nast’s commerce ecosystem.

  • Condé Nast Core Affiliate Product Experience: Own and grow the affiliate commerce product as the foundation of the business, protecting and optimizing it as the current core commerce revenue surface

  • Condé Nast Commerce Evolution: Defining the future of commerce experiences across Condé Nast's brand portfolio, with particular focus on the next generation of marketplace operations inclusive of front-end AI powered discovery experiences, personalization, CRM capabilities and check-out experience

  • VETTE Platform Leadership: Define and execute the product vision for VETTE, our two-sided marketplace and creator storefront infrastructure, including the partner ecosystem, technology stack, and roadmap that supports its scale across brands and markets.

The VP will operate as a senior thought partner to the SVP Revenue Commerce, working across engineering, design, editorial, brand commerce leads, and external partners to bring a coherent product vision to life. This is a builder role with executive scope: the right candidate is fluent in both platform architecture and brand experience, comfortable moving between technical decisioning and brand-led storytelling, and credible across leadership, partner, and engineering conversations.

Key Responsibilities

Core Affiliate Product Ownership

  • Own the core affiliate commerce product including commerce content templates and optimizations, link infrastructure, attribution and measurement, network and merchant integrations, and product data quality.

  • Ensure affiliate performance is protected and grown alongside innovation tracks

Commerce Strategic Product Vision & Roadmap

  • Set the multi-year product vision for Condé Nast's commerce ecosystem including brand marketplace experiences and platform capabilities that drive growth, monetization, and audience engagement.

  • Own the end-to-end product experience of commerce customers on the Conde Nast commerce platform

  • Translate company-level commerce strategy into a coherent product roadmap with clear sequencing, success metrics, and investment cases

  • Lead product solutions to drive alternative monetization routes beyond core affiliate

  • Champion build vs. buy vs. partner decisions at a portfolio level, with appropriate trade-off analysis around speed, scalability, and editorial integrity

  • Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous learning, using data, customer feedback, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities for growth.

VETTE Platform Ownership

  • As VETTE is currently powered by a start-up product acquired by Conde Nast in 2025, this role will lead the integration of the independent team into the internal ecosystem

  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for VETTE, from marketplace mechanics and creator onboarding to merchant tooling, transaction flows, and analytics.

  • Lead architecture decisions in partnership with engineering leadership, ensuring scalability, performance, and integration reliability across a multi-brand environment.

  • Manage and evolve the VETTE tech stack, including infrastructure, third-party integrations, and internal tooling.

  • Drive monetisation, conversion, and retention improvements through a disciplined experimentation and prioritisation cadence.

Condé Nast Commerce Product Evolution & Front-End Experiences

  • Define the future state of commerce surfaces across the Condé Nast brand portfolio (Vogue, GQ, Allure, AD, Wired, Condé Nast Traveler, Bon Appétit, and beyond)

  • Champion customer-centric commerce experiences that connect content, discovery, personalization, and transaction journeys to drive engagement, conversion, and long-term customer value.

  • Shape the front-end experience strategy for AI-driven discovery, conversational commerce, and visual search, ensuring outputs inform rather than misrepresent product reality (a non-negotiable editorial guardrail).

  • Operationalise affiliate and marketplace product experiences across priority brands, in close partnership with brand commerce leads, editorial, and revenue teams.

Product Partnership & Ecosystem Strategy

  • Own senior relationships with strategic platform partners including Shopify, Amazon, Meta, Substack, Ethyca, and other infrastructure and distribution partners.

  • Scope, negotiate, and launch high-leverage integrations that unlock new marketplace capabilities or open new monetisation models.

  • Represent Condé Nast in partner forums, joint roadmap discussions, and co-development conversations.

Organizational & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing product organization spanning platform, marketplace, and brand-facing experiences. Establish product operating models, talent strategies, and ways of working that enable teams to deliver with ownership, speed, and clarity.

  • Operate as the primary bridge between business, engineering, design, editorial, and brand commerce stakeholders, with the credibility to broker decisions at pace while also driving alignment and shared ownership of outcomes

  • Define and evolve product operating models, prioritization frameworks, and delivery governance that support effective decision-making and execution across multiple teams and initiatives.

  • Lead sprint planning, prioritisation, and delivery rituals across multiple workstreams, maintaining visibility into timelines, dependencies, and trade-offs.

  • Foster a design-led, editorially literate product culture that respects the distinctiveness of each Condé Nast brand.

About You

Required

  • 12+ years of product leadership experience, with at least 5 years at a Director or VP level managing complex platform or marketplace products.

  • Demonstrated track record defining and scaling marketplace, platform, or e-commerce products, and leading large-scale product, platform, or business model transformation initiatives in environments with high editorial or brand sensitivity.

  • Deep understanding of customer experience, conversion optimization, personalization, and consumer engagement strategies within digital commerce environments.

  • Experience owning and optimizing an affiliate or performance-commerce product, including attribution, network integrations, and yield.

  • Deep technical fluency across APIs, headless commerce, integration architecture, and modern front-end frameworks; able to engage substantively with engineering leadership on architecture decisions.

  • Experience building and leading high-performing product organizations through periods of growth, transformation, and organizational change.

  • Track record launching and managing strategic third-party integrations and platform partnerships.

  • Strong commercial instincts: comfortable owning P&L conversations, monetisation models, and investment cases.

  • Excellent executive communication skills, with experience presenting to boards, executive committees, and external partners.

  • Consultative approach and the ability to partner deeply with business experts to formulate and drive strategic recommendations for their area(s).

  • Gravitas to work with all levels of the organization, including with C-Suite executives.

Strong Plus Factors

  • Experience with the Shopify ecosystem, headless commerce, or unified checkout architectures.

  • Background in creator platforms, media tech, luxury commerce, or premium consumer marketplaces.

  • Familiarity with applied AI in commerce contexts (recommendation, conversational shopping, visual search) and the editorial guardrails these systems require.

  • Prior experience operating across the US and Western Europe markets.

  • Experience leading affiliate-to-marketplace or aggregator-to-platform business model transitions.

The expected base salary range for this position is from $270,000-$330,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
