Job Description:

The VP of Social Commerce will be the Social Commerce leader and subject matter expert of within dentsu Media's investment management and activation group, which services all three of dentsu's media agencies: Carat, dentsu X, and iProspect.
This leader is a true expert in the Commerce aspect of Social Commerce. You will bridge the gap between dentsu's Commerce team and Paid Social team. You will be focused on adding Commerce elements to our already successful social activations. This requires a deep knowledge of the US social commerce landscape, and will include platform recommendations, forecasting, merchandising, partnerships, and more.
You will sit at the intersection of modern media. You will report in to dentsu's US Head of Commerce, and be instrumental in guiding and maturing our activation team and working closely with our clients to deliver against their needs.
Main Responsibilities
Commerce Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and own the social commerce roadmap, aligning with broader commerce and retail media goals.
  • Identify and activate commerce opportunities across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and emerging social channels.
  • Lead the integration of product catalogs, storefronts, and checkout experiences within social platforms.
  • Partner with merchandising, product, and media teams to optimize product discoverability and conversion.
Performance & Optimization
  • Build and manage a robust measurement framework to track ROI, conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs across social commerce initiatives.
  • Leverage data to continuously optimize content, targeting, and platform selection for revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with analytics and media teams to ensure attribution models accurately reflect social commerce impact.
Partnerships & Platform Innovation
  • Cultivate relationships with social platforms, tech partners, and influencers to stay ahead of commerce capabilities and trends.
  • Pilot new social commerce formats (e.g., live shopping, affiliate integrations, creator storefronts) and scale successful initiatives.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration.
  • Work cross-functionally with paid social, product, and eCommerce teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Evangelize social commerce internally and externally, positioning the company as a leader in the space.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in eCommerce, digital marketing, or social media, with at least 3 years in a commerce-focused role.
  • Deep understanding of social platform commerce capabilities and consumer behavior.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue through social channels.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with performance marketing metrics.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
The annual salary range for this position is $136,000 -$219,650. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.

Dentsu may designate other Hub offices at any time. Those who live outside a commutable range may be designated as remote, depending on the role and business needs.
