Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experiencedPrecious Metals Trader to join our Precious Metals Trading team. The ideal candidate will lead pricing, execution and risk management for the bank’s precious metals franchise across gold, silver and PGMs, with a strong focus on basis trading. The role is responsible for market-making, active risk-taking and robust risk management across diverse Precious Metals products and key market locations. The trader will work closely with sales, structuring, custody and e-trading teams to deliver competitive client solutions, drive P&L and support strategic initiatives to grow the precious metals business, while maintaining the highest standards of control and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Make markets and executes trades in precious metals (spot, forwards, swaps and futures ) for both client and proprietary flows.

- Actively manage and trade basis between different locations and instruments (e.g. COMEX vs Loco London, regional locos, EFP), optimizing carry and funding cost.

- Manage physical gold positions including loco movements, allocations and conversions between physical and paper exposure.

- Manage intraday andovernight risk within approved limits and monitor/explain P&L drivers.

- Partner with eFX/Quant teams to improve pricing models, auto hedging logic and e-distribution for precious metals products.

- Support sales and structuring in designing and executing client solutions across both all precious metals products

- Track macro, commodities and cross-asset developments affecting precious metals

- Contribute to internal market commentary and analyze market trends, news, and data to drive informed trading decisions

- Experience in FX trading will be an added advantage.

Qualifications & Skills

- 4-7 years of experience in Precious Metals trading

- Proven track record in a trading / market-making role in precious metals.

- Strong understanding of basis trading with deep knowledge of pricing and risk concepts is strongly preferred.

- Proven experience in physical gold trading including interaction with refineries, vaults and custodians.

- Proficiency in Python, KDB, or other relevant tools for trading analytics and automation will be an added advantage.

- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field

- Entrepreneurial mindset, able to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment
